How has marketing changed with the Internet and all?

How has the world of marketing changed? Billboards and newspaper ads are the way of the past but what is the best way to market now? Are Adwords and Facebook ads the best way to do it? It just seems so expensive - what are the most up to date tips and tricks to market a website?

Before the evolution of the internet, the popular marketing channels were newspapers and magazines, radio, TV, billboards and posters. When the internet evolved and became popular, these marketing channels were replaced by websites, blogs, and forums. The traditional marketing channel still exits and they still are effective, however, online marketing has more effective. These days many businesses choose online marketing over traditional marketing because it is cheap. You can do online marketing for free, through social media, even if you want to do paid marketing, it is cheaper to advertise on the internet than on a newspaper. You will never find an ad spot on TV for $1, however, you can advertise your product for $1 on facebook. This is the power of internet marketing.

I go with Facebook advertising any day,from experience Facebook because of the numerous users has been a lead in helping one to drive huge traffic to a site with ads links and banners which in turn brings about good conversion. So yes the traditional ways of advertising is still kicking but not as much with Facebook ads these days.

Yeah, the internet has changed so much in the world of marketing and advertisement in the sense that it is now easier for anyone selling his products/services to reach a greater audience without having to walk to those places. I must say that it has been an improvement on what we used to have before.
