What are some of the best tools to use for SEO related activities?

I think just poking around with a great checklist and looking at the raw code is good first step. Without a deep and clear understanding of what and why you are looking at something, the tools will not help. They may actually hurt.

One of the key factors to keep in mind in SEO is that who you compete with and how they compete is very important if you want to get results.

I use these 2 tools called Lipperhey and TrafficTwister, they're both great to analyze your own site while also putting them up against your competitors to see how well you do against them.
