    Facebook likes and shares now have no direct bearing over your clients’ rankings. Bing maintains its agreement with Facebook, and they use information from the social media site and other social platforms to choose what appears first on their SERPs. So FB is useful for SEO, but not that way you might thigk.

    I think the links of your website that are in Facebook are taken into consideration by search engines so that the more links you have scattered in the social media, the better for the SEO capability of your website. In one discussion that I came across, there was a comment that a shared post in Facebook has a higher value since when a post is shared, it has a tendency to go viral. In other words, being viral is being anticipated by the search engines now. Correct me if I am wrong on this impression about Facebook posts regarding the SEO.
