    Ya, cause the automated software usually, has the tendency to make lot's of backlinks in very less time. Which is humanly not possible. That's why google detects your site and blacklists you.

    If you are using the software to create stupid amounts of links then yeah, 5-10 links per blast should be safe.

    I have tried bots to generate backlinks and the backlinks were coming from the sites with no content or the sites with low quality. content the automated software also generates backlinks from inferior sites. backlinks from low-quality sites do more harm than not having any backlinks. You should always look for backlinks from high authoritative sites.
