    well the best way to check the backlinks of a blog is moonsy.com and seomoz pro account.

    everyone is going to have their own opinion here so i might as well throw in mine: Scrapebox. It is unbelievable software with a slight learning curve but not a difficult one.

    I am using SEO Quake toolbar on my Firefox. This tool not only provides information on backlink but also your Google, yahoo, bing index, alexa rank, SEMrush backlinks etc. Another toolbar that you can use to check your backlinks is Mozbar. I have not used this but they say it is also very good tool for SEO purpose.
