    First of all you need to have a theme for your website that is optimized for hand held devices. Theme optimized for hand held devices means, when you view the website on a mobile device, you should be able to view entire website and nothing is missed. Furthermore, your website on mobile device also must look good. If the theme fits on mobile device, it means your website is properly optimized for mobile device.     When you say a mobile website, my understanding is that it is accessible only by mobile browsers and not available for computer browsers. For the SEO, it is practically the same as the big websites starting with the contents. You upload fresh contents often like every other day and your ranking will be higher. When your website ranks high in search engines then you get more traffic.
