Every website owner should focus on these 5 things

Whenever you start off online, you may not know what to focus on, which is actually a pretty common thing. Startups and people just wanting to start a blog won't always know what to do when it comes to a website, which is pretty common because they aren't full time marketers who do this for a living. There are multiple things you will need to focus on when it comes to top rankings, boosting your sales, branding your website and business, having the best products, having the best services, etc. in order to have the best business out there that will hopefully become the authority within your niche.

Many things are needed when you're a website owner trying to boost your business. The next 5 things are just the tip of the iceberg, but they are some of the main things you'll need to focus on to become successful.

Boosting sales through various methods
Bringing in sales and clients will always be a #1 goal of any business, because if you don't have sales you don't have a business, and that's a simple truth. If you think you can be successful without making money, you're likely a person that has plenty of money built up and you don't need to rely on money coming in from your websites to put food on the table. If you're like me, you need to work every day to bring in sales and clients to keep the lights on lol That's why I focus on various sale generating methods, such as:

PPC Campaigns - Putting ads on Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Quora, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. to target specific people and get them to spend money on your website.
Banner Ads - Searching through marketplaces like BuySellAds to find niche relevant websites to advertise on without breaking the bank.
Guest Posts - Posting high quality content on 3rd party websites that are already seen as an authority within the search engines and these sites will help you bring in sales as well as boost your rankings from the backlink placed within the content you wrote up.
Forum Advertising - You can use paid ads and/or sales threads to bring in clients and boost your sales. You'll have to get targeted, just like your PPC campaigns, in order to have the best ROI for your time invested.

Above are just a few ways to bring in sales, if I were to go over everything, I would be writing a 50,000 word discussion lol

Branding from day 1 of launch
Many companies don't think they need branding right from the start, which isn't true. As soon as your website is live, you need to be branding it in order to be more successful in a shorter amount of time. Most of the time, website owners will focus on branding after they start to make a decent amount of money, but that's not what should be done. Your branding will boost your sales, as well as your search engine rankings, and you can actually be more successful later on if you start branding from day 1

Trying to obtain funding to boost your success
Many people who are getting into websites don't think about getting funding from investors or banks. You can get small loans from a bank, as long as you have good credit, and you can boost your success quicker since you won't have to worry much about bootstrapping your profits to get to the point where you would have started if you have a bank loan. You can also get an investor to come on board and give you money to boost your success, but to do this you will need to have something truly unique and interesting for them to even think about giving you money. If there are plenty of people within your niche or industry, you likely don't have something unique and will get overlooked by investors. Now, if you have something that has competition, but you have a unique approach and it's cutting edge, you might intrigue some investors because they know tech advancements are profitable, no matter the niche

Have the best service or product on the market
If you're getting online to sell a service or product, you will need to be the best at what you do or sell the best product possible. You can't cut corners when it comes to being the best, so don't even think about it! To be the best, you need to beat the best! That means you will need to know your competitors and if you have to, purchase from them to see what they do that makes them so much money, then duplicate it with your own uniqueness on top of it and become the authority

Have the best support system and team ready to answer anything
A lot of people will use a gmail, yahoo mail, or hotmail account to run their business emails through, which I have to tell you is pretty unprofessional. There are actually commercials that show poeple giving out their emails, and the client second guesses them because it doesn't sound like they're an actual business. To provide the best support system possible, you need to use a ticket system and/or a live chat system to get questions in one location and have them easy to answer. You can have VAs (virtual assistants) answer all the tickets that come in, and you can even hire some people from the Philippines who know English very well

In conclusion
Running a company isn't an easy thing to do, especially if it's a digital business like what a lot of us do. You will need to do various things like boost sales, keep the peace between customers and employees, make sure your team works well together, branding, and much more! It's not easy, no one will help you become rich, and you will get burned out if you do all the work yourself. Bring on a team to answer tickets or freelancers to help you with coding or other parts of your business that needs attention that someone off the street couldn't do because it takes a little bit of specialization to figure out and fix of do in general

Yes, White hat SEO is what you should be focusing on because it will be the main way to boost your rankings and staying safe in the eyes of the big search engines who control your rankings. If you do any sort of blackhat methods to boost your rankings, you'll likely get caught, because the search engines aren't dumb and can figure out your methods pretty quickly.

I do all my own SEO, and only outsource it if I'm getting overworked or have too many clients at the time, so I know my websites are always safe when it comes to my rankings

I will always do my on page optimization first, then start building high authority link building, then I'll focus a lot more time into content generation for my own website as well as 3rd party guest posting websites that I want to get some traffic and links from

White hat is what we should do regardless if it is about keywords or backlinks because it is the safe way. Getting short cuts like keyword stuffing is risky according to some discussions in this site but I am still not fully convinced about the risk because I have yet to read an official statement from search engines that too many keywords can get your site to be suspended.

I am on the process of starting my own website. I'm saving some money to fund the website. I was going to use the traditional way of gmail accounts fora support system but I'm now convinced that won't work.

Yeah, just use a basic shared hosting account and use the emails you get within the hosting. You can set up something like support@, info@, noreply@, and so on in order to look more professional. Using a Gmail account won't be very professional, so try to avoid that at all costs.

Now, you can still use your Gmail account and have all of your domain emails forwarded to it, but just use it as a sort of notification to log into your hosting and check your emails. No one wants to send an email to [email protected] and get a response from [email protected] lol

The more professionally you make your website look, and run, the more often you will close a deal over your competitors and boost your profits

If you're saving up for a website, just go with something from ThemeForest and then put it on a shared hosting plan over at NameCheap or another big platform that won't go out of business anytime soon. You can get a fully designed website, domain, and hosting for less than $100 if you did that, which is much cheaper than getting something custom designed from the ground up. Usually, you'll run into a lot of problems when having something custom coded, this is because you haven't done enough research and just hired the first programmer/designer to do the job and they can't do everything you require.

I have not spent a lot of money on advertising, however, I have tried advertising my business on Facebook. I was able to get website clicks, however, the clicks did not convert to sales. Currently, I am focusing on search engine marketing. Google is offering $150 free advertising credits if I spend $150. I might use this offer. I have done advertising on forums, however, forum advertising did not work for me.

If you have built and worked your Facebook account and page to be very active and standard, once you carry out your advertisement on the social media, it's definitely going to pull through with lots of clicks because there are millions of people waiting to be grasped from the social media network. I do make use of it from time to time and it's serving me effectively.

I agree with the idea that he should be sticking through with the Facebook advertising, to some degree at least. He might not have received satisfactory results at first, but it's still a workable area that has a lot of potential. Accurate utilization of social media advertisement is essential to success these days, and there is more to it than just paying for banner ads. I think that more than advertisement, people should start looking at it as social media "marketing," because marketing is a multi-level strategy that generally goes deeper than just paying for clicks.

My first experience with facebook ad was an ad campaign to promote my amazon book. I tried $1 a day advertising and advertised for a week. By spending $7 in advertising, I received a lot of traffic on my book listing. However, the traffic did not convert, my book was unsold. Since this was an experiment, I decided to launch another ad campaign, I advertised my affiliate store. This time I set a higher budget. Traffic was good however conversion was very low. I did not even recover the money I spent on advertising

The tips discussed in the above article stating some of the things any website owner should always look out for are very important not to be neglected because it will mark the ruin of your websites if you fail to take them seriously.

Always ensure that the support system of your website is up and doing because it will give your site visitors confidence to believe in what you are doing. Also take a close look at your business competitors and use the information you got against them to stay on top of the food chain.

With regards to the point of "Trying to obtain funding to boost your success," it wouldn't be a bad idea to give crowdfunding a shot, either. These days crowdfunding is all the rage, and depending on the kind of site you run, you might find that there are plenty of people willing to fund your endeavor for you. That is of course so long as you give them an incentive to do so. Obviously this option isn't going to work for everyone, but if you run a site that provides some sort of free entertainment (such as a web comic, for example) you might find that there are people willing to fund your project just to keep you afloat. It might not work out, but some people have tried this method with great results.

I like that line that says you need to have the best product in the market. Whenever I would search for a product in an online store, rest assured that a list would be presented that sometimes the choices are more than 10. Now, this is the tricky part of buying a product from an online store. What I see in the literature or product description are just texts because no matter how good the product is claimed to be, that’s just a blurb, right? The price tag is still the deciding factor for me most of the time.
