Grammarly Review - What I've learned from using it everyday

Recently I decided to start trying out Grammarly for my writing, and I'm glad I did!  If you don't know what Grammarly is, it's a service that helps you with your grammar when posting to any website.  You can either log into their website or download their browser toolbar add-on like I did for Firefox.  When you're normally writing or typing something up, you will see little red lines under words you misspelled or spelled correctly but the internal system doesn't recognize the word.   With Grammarly, you can find a vast variety of these words, as well as grammar mistakes, and quickly edit them before you submit anything.

I recently started using Grammarly with my writing service here on SEOclerks just so I could guarantee the best grammar and spelling output I possibly can.  I have my flaws when writing and a good example of that is when I use "it's" instead of "its" even though I've known the difference between the two and how to use them.  It's like my fingers just throw in the apostrophe without my brain catching it, but Grammarly is there to tell me I screwed it up!   This is also good because internal spelling systems for blogs and websites won't catch that you input "it's" when you should have used "its" instead.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I'll be giving my Grammarly review within this discussion so everyone can get an idea of what it is and if it's worth it for them to use Grammarly Review - What I

Grammarly is free, sort of
Grammarly is free to some extent, and you might never need to upgrade your membership if you don't want to.  Sure, there are a few additional features for those people who aren't the best at writing, but you might not need to upgrade at all if you just learn a bit about how to write and type.

You can upgrade your account for $29.95 a month, or if you want to pay for a year in advance, you can get that price down to $11.66 a month which is roughly a 61% discount Grammarly Review - What I

Grammarly Review - What I

Grammarly paid features
Grammarly has some pretty sweet paid features to help out a novice or even pro writers.  I don't even have the paid version right now and it's still a powerful piece of software packaged in a little plugin Grammarly Review - What I  The paid features will help you do various things such as check plagiarism across more than 8 billion web pages to help you structure sentences better.  It's like a writing and English teacher watching over what you're doing and making sure everything is top notch.

Grammarly Review - What I

The Only Downside of Grammarly
I have noticed one big downside of Grammarly that I've sent in an email about.  I've been running this service on my articles for a few weeks now, and I love it, but it tends to lag a bit when I'm writing in a text box because it's constantly trying to figure out what's going on with my writing and if something is wrong.  I will type up a sentence and my words will show up a second or two after they are typed.  This may not be a big problem for people who don't type very fast, but I'm hitting around 100 words a minute right now and increasing slowly as time goes on.

For those of you saying "It could just be your computer not being able to run the plugin properly!!!!" and all I have to show you are my laptops specs in order for you to prove it's not my laptop lol.

  • Processor:
Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core Processor (2.6-3.5GHz)
  • RAM:
    16GB (8GB x2) DDR4 2133MHz | Hard Drive: 256GB SSD (PCIE Gen3 x4) NVMe + 2TB (SATA) 7200rpm
  • Operating System:
    Windows 10
  • Graphics Card:
    NVIDIA Geforce GTX970M 3G GDDR5 | Display: 17.3" UHD, 4K eDP IPS-Level 3840 x 2160
  • Special Features:
4K Display | Steel Series Full-color Backlight with Anti-Ghost key + Silver Lining | LAN: Killer Gaming Network E2400 | Wireless: Killer N1535 Combo | True Color Technology

If you haven't figured it out yet, my laptop is a gaming laptop designed to run first-person shooters at 60fps.  If you don't know what that means, my laptop can run highly detailed video games at a very high rate and not lag at all, but Grammarly lags my screen a bit....

Would I recommend it for authors and bloggers?
I certainly would recommend it to all bloggers and authors who churn out a decent amount of content each week!  I love this little add-on to my Firefox browser and I'm sure other people would like it just as much, maybe even more than I do lol.  The way I get around my lag problem is to just disable the add-on while typing and then turn it on when I go back to spell/grammar check everything I just wrote Grammarly Review - What I  It works very well this way, and it doesn't slow me down one bit when having it on after I'm done writing Grammarly Review - What I

In Conclusion
Grammarly is definitely a beast of a little plugin and has helped me write even better than before.  It's constantly looking over my shoulder and helping me with the small mistakes that my fingers might miss.  It's easy to go back and edit everything, you just hover over the mistake and a small box pops up with suggestions on what to have instead of what is currently written.  It's a great little add-on and I would suggest everyone take a peek at it, not just the people who are writing and blogging more than the average person Grammarly Review - What I

Grammarly is a good thing for people who have bad spelling and or aren't very good at grammar in general. Such as those for who English is not their native tongue/language. But it is kind of resource hungry though especially for long articles and does get quite finicky when you have a lot of words to correct. Sometimes the words don't even really need correcting. It's just being a stickler for perfect grammar but if you're not writing expert thesis for universities and such a thing I don't think it really matters? I just use the built in spell checker that comes with Chrome and it does the same job minus the lagg! Grammarly Review - What I

Surprised it's being laggy on a gaming computer though! It's cool but I think you'll end up removing it after a while as the lag is not worth the hassle in the end. That's what I found with Grammarly anyway. Grammarly Review - What I

I switched over to chrome to test it out and it seems to work better there. I haven't been noticing any sort of lag with the Chrome+Grammarly combo, but I'm not a huge fan of Chrome so I don't know how long this will last lol Grammarly Review - What I

Yeah, I was surprised that my gaming laptop couldn't handle it. I did a bunch of different tests and I think it might have just been firefox that was lagging a bit because of how hungry the add-on was. I actually got pretty mad when my laptop started lagging because there's absolutely no reason it should have been lol.

This was a good review on Grammarly, I have used Grammarly since I came online to write articles for pay.I just Googled tools to spell check my piece apart from the usual spell check that accompanies Microsoft-word and Grammarly pop up and since our union, I don't think There's a need for a divorce.Well, this is my own assessment I have never experienced this lagging I'm even thinking of buying the premium package, so no bad experience with it for me.

English is our second language and I cannot say that I am very good at it. In fairness to me, I know of some Americans who fare worse than my English but I know that it is another matter. With grammarly, I was surprised that I have many grammatical mistakes particularly the use of the comma in a complex sentence. Until now I am still confused if I would use a comma or not.

My laptop doesn't have the best specs in town and Grammarly may just be too intrusive for my needs. I use free grammar tools like sentencechecker.com and prowritingaid.com (free edition) before personally proofreading my work. I simply copy paste the article to get feedback on spelling and grammar. These tools are far more advanced that MS Word spelling and grammar checker but aren't 100% reliable. They do lessen the proofreading load but nothing beats the trained human eye for final editing touches.

You can use Grammarly in a browser, as a web page. you dot have to use anything, just create an account. And after you finished your writing, simply copy-paste the article/content in the Grammarly checking. You will find this trick very effective, because it dose dont eat your ram and processing power- like a hungry people. Just use Grammarly in a browser, use Google chrome or any supported browsers.

I just recently installed Grammarly in my browser. It is really a good tool for writing content. I think it is more accurate checking grammar compared to MSWord. I have blogs written in MSWord that seems okay but Grammarly found errors on it. Thanks for sharing this tool.

I use Grammarly and , for the most part, like it. But, you are right. There is that lag because it is constantly checking, even while typing. On the other hand, Ginger handles things differently. You have to upload or cut-n-paste your document into Ginger, and then it gives you recommendation, which I find to be more comprehensive and valuable,

I have the plugin disabled. The reason being it slowed down my computer. And it's chrome add on so it's not like firefox is eating RAM. The plugin seems to be doing the same on chrome too. And I don't like that it is checking the grammar on every thing I am posting online. I don't think all the places requires the correction. And it's not like something people should be looking for as well. I think there should be other sites or the services online that can be used for the grammar correction. i'd surely use them as well.

Same. I tried Grammarly and found it was very resource hungry and slowed down my browser. I have personally found that it's a service that doesn't need to exist (as far as I'm concerned). Simply because I use a built in spell checker addon in my browser anyway and this works exactly the same. In that it underlines misspelled words for you. It doesn't underline bad grammar though. But I just think that's being too fussy as I talk how I talk and not all prim and proper and that you know? Grammarly Review - What I

The crashes are so much. And unless you have lazarus installed there seems to be no way to recover the form data. I wonder if they can purchase lazaus add on and include in grammarly. This way our form data is not lost if the add on is going to crash. It's kind of like too much work from where I am seeing this.

I do find Grammarly very useful as I always use it as the extension on my Chrome browser and it's doing great. I've never had wrong spellings as of now and some of the grammar can really correct but most of the time, not that accurate. Whenever I don't know the exact word or I don't know how to spell it, I just typed in whatever the spell that I can think of and then, Grammarly just give me the right spelling. I don't think that I would need the subscribe to their plan as I'm contented on what I'm getting, right now.

My issue is not so much spelling, it is typing... which is weird for a writer, I know. But, I am constantly hitting the semicolon rather than the common. And, if I am on a roll, there are typing errors galore. Not to mention the fact that I am the worst self-editor on the planet.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ColdFlameChris
That's also one of my problems. I still do make mistakes whenever I type and most of the times, I don't notice those mistakes that's why it's a good thing to have Grammarly, to show you that you did make a mistake. Until now, I still can't type smoothly without getting an error and I'm still not familiar with all of the keys.

I consider Grammarly to be the site in that category. It really helps me to write faster and with confidence because I know that it's there to back me up in most instances if I should make a grammar or punctuation error. Its services are free to a certain level and there is a paying situation for a more advanced level of the service. My problem with Grammarly is that it's not yet available for Android phones.

It's the same with me. Having Grammarly helps me out a lot because of the fact that I can write so quickly without having to worry about any spelling errors or grammatical errors either. The fact that it is free makes it so great as well. I'm sure they are trying to get an app for Android and iOS very soon so you won't have to wait for that for too long.

I have been using Grammarly for some time now and I am okay with the free version. I don't think that I need to upgrade. Sometimes I make some typographical error and fortunately, there is Grammarly to notify me about those mistakes. The only problem with Grammarly is that it has slowed down my browser. However, I am so used to this extension now and don't want to disable it.

Personally, I wouldn't pay for Grammarly Premium. I think that paying something like $11 just for this would not be worth for me because of the fact that my English is pretty good at the moment. The only reason I use Grammarly (the free version of course) is to ensure that I don't miss anything because of how quick I type. Most of the time I will miss a comma here or there or just misspell a particular word.

I used to use Grammarly. I found it to be a pain in the neck though. It tended to indicate errors with things that I know weren't errors. I don't feel I really need my writing to be technically perfect. I strive to get my meaning across, and I think I do that pretty well without the addition of a site that slowed my browser.

I am using a free version of Grammarly. The free version has a limitation, however, it is still helpful when you are writing online. The suggestions are very useful. I want to use a premium version, however, I cannot afford to subscribe the service because I do not have a budget. I write in English as a foreign language, therefore, my English language skills are average. Grammarly will help me brush up my writings.

Currently, I use the free version of Grammarly. I've known about the service for a few months now, and it has really helped improve the sentence structures of my articles, letters, and other typed documents, in general. When I was in high school, I'd say I had above average English/Language Arts skills. This includes formal/informal text, proper grammatical use, as well as the basics of creating letters, and as such. Grammarly has only improved my basis of producing quality articles.

Right now, I'm using the free version as a Chrome extension on the Google Chrome browser. However, in the near future, I'll probably upgrade in order to expand upon its full services in advance sentence structuring and other features.

I have not thought of using Grammarly since my spelling is not that poor. Any misspelled words always get underlined automatically in red on any site I use. I guess it must be built in the browser but I am not sure about that.

Some browsers comes with a free extension for checking grammar errors.

I think it's going to be nice for you to check on Grammarly. I've used that tool for some weeks now and I must confess that it is the best around when you talk of error correction in writing. It's laptop based for I've not seen the smartphone version yet.

I really have no problems with spellings. And if the spelling checker on word processor can do the job, I really do not see the need for using grammarly. I feel the results will be similar to what I write now and the only difference is that one is a special feature called grammarly while the other is editing manually.

Grammarly is still the best grammar checking tool in the world, but can never perform like a human being. It's still not very perfect. I use it carefully and even cautiously understanding that it doesn't fully correct all of your grammatical errors and mistakes. The user must still manually check every content against errors and mistakes not relying on the tool alone.

I use Grammarly, too, but more as a guide than as the final authority on how I should write.

Most of the time, Grammarly points out the correct mistakes. However, there are times when its suggestions don't really click with what's going on. I have a good sense of what's good in English because it's a subject I teach every day. I have to keep up with the changes in English spelling and grammar by keeping close touch with developments.

I also don't think you can trust Grammarly 100 percent. Remember it's main purpose is to make money. If you use the free version, I think you're in big trouble. It makes corrections then gives your work a clean bill of health(in green). However it gives you the option to upgrade and tells you, you'll be able to see the other 22 critical issues. For me this is dishonest, either give me a free trial with all the tools or don't. If your work still has so many issues, then what corrections has it made?

I really have an issue with this and because of it, I won't be upgrading. I just don't trust this app.As @mildredtabitha said, what's the difference between it and the spelling and grammar checker on word? To be honest I don't think my work has 22 critical issues! I hate being taken for a ride.

Grammarly is a better choice then any other similar products. As its algorithm sometimes lags, and dont give intended result, so its recommended to use under a supervision. if you dont really know how to write english, the Grammarly may not help you at all. but if you have more than basic idea, and then if you use Grammarly, you can easily increase your righting quality for sure.

I think Grammarly is an important element in a website whether it is a blog or forum. As long as there is input by the audience, Grammarly will at least minimize spelling mistakes and grammar errors. But now that I have seen the cost, gee, I guess that it is only for big business and not for ordinary blogs or websites. But maybe in the near future, Grammarly will be free or maybe a clone or clones will emerge to make every speller and grammar checker for free.

In fact, I have been using Grammarly for sometimes and even I started writing a blog around Grammarly and I feel very confident to find it because it's the tool that I rely upon most of the time and even here when I'm writing on this forum.

This is a great tool for Bloggers, Affiliate marketers, Freelancers and all those who work in front of a PC.
