In my daily schedule for my online work, I cannot afford to be sick because no matter how small, I still regret to let the day pass without earning. Fortunately for me, my husband is willing to lend me a hand in times like that by typing for me. I would do the dictation and he would do the typing. Much more, he is good in grammar so it is like I am dictating to a software with grammar checker lol. Sometimes he even adds ideas although it is always for me to decide. Last month when I was in the hospital for 2 days, I continued working online thru our dictation method. One friend said that I seem to be addicted to my online work. It’s not really for the money but more for the financial discipline that I impose on myself. I hate to waste time by simply staying on the bed and not being productive. As long as my mind is still doing well that I can do the dictating then the only problem is the typing. How about you, how do you continue working when you are tied to the bed?

Unfortunately, around 2 weeks ago I was sick and had to take some medication that made me drowsy. I would take the medication and then sleep for an additional 6 or 8 hours on top of the 8 I was already getting at night. Basically I was sleeping more than I was awake lol. For this time, I was not working much, but I was writing down everything that I needed to get done for when I didn't have to take the medication anymore.
I could have outsourced the work I had, but I wouldn't have made any money. Since I didn't have a time crunch, I could afford (sort of) to wait out the sickness and work on the projects when I was better. I do write everyday for my clients, and since I couldn't be online doing that, they weren't getting new content daily
A trick I like to do when I'm sick and don't have the motivation to work, is I will try to brainstorm and work on my other ideas that don't take much out of me to do so. Sure, typing all day doesn't seem like it's very strenuous, but it gets tiring after you look at a computer screen for 8+ hours a day. So when I'm sick, it's even more tiring, and I get drained much quicker. To counteract this, I will expand on some of my R&D projects and do some research on them. It doesn't feel like work and most of the time I'm not even typing, I'm just thinking of how I can streamline a project or bring in sales for a new website that I plan on working on in 1 week, 3 months or even a year from now
In the end, it's up to you whether you want to work or not. I'm getting back into the swing of things now, after my illness, but I didn't feel defeated since I was technically getting stuff done each day. Sure, the work I was getting done won't help me until later on, maybe a year from now, but it will help eventually and I'll be happy I did the work back when I was sick instead of complain and blow my nose
On the other hand, there are people out there who are hospitalized and can't work because they can't. I luckily haven't been in that situation, and I hope I never will be
