    Throw ads up right away or wait for content to build?

    It seems that the strategy of monet of the posts that I read on the internet is to make a blog with a few posts and throw ads up and complain that they are not making money. And in my personal opinion a new website with ads is a huge turnoff to me and it makes me think they are only in it for the money.

    However if it's a established website, I don't mind if they have some ads because I know how much hosting increases as you get more viewers/visitors and content. So my question is what do you do? Do you make a new website and throw ads up right away and hope for the best? Or do you work on building quality content and then put on ads after you have enough people visiting the website?

    I don't mind if websites have advertisements because most sites are created as a way to make money. I think it is fine for the owners to put up ads, no matter whether they are new or old because all sites have costs that can make it extremely expensive without a stream of revenue from the site. The only problem I do have is when the site overloads you with advertisements. If there are popups and advertisements on every available space then I will probably leave the site.

    It is now the standard to earn from your site like we are all having our own tv channel or network. I have noticed that site owners are focused on SEO methods because they want to earn from the traffic which means their site is monetized. And when the site is monetized then there is advertisement for sure. What if the so called ad blockers in internet browsers will be the standard, there will be no more ads and the businesses will all go bankrupt.

    That's an interesting question. I have thought about it previously and I still have mixed views. I see where you are coming from that a new site with a ton of adds can be perceived just as a way of making money but in the end, isn't that essentially at least part of everybody's goal? Would you say no to the money? I know that I wouldn't. I guess it also depends on what sort of website/blog we are talking about. Some are specifically created to earn money - only rarely sites aren't interested in making some sort of a profit and are doing it purely for passion.

    Well, it all depends on what rocks your boat, for me i didn't wait to build up the contents first, i started placing Ads right from the time i started the blog like two after, immediately i was approved by Adsense. For me if you start getting traffics and you know your contents are cool and the coming ones will be cool also, i see no reason you won't start placing Ads, but you got to do it in a way, that will be moderate, not throwing it everywhere on your website, it's irritating and tons of people will bounce your site.
    So if you feel the traffics are now coming, it's better you start placing Ads.

    I think it is a matter of personal preference really. IF you have few people visiting your page though, you may be wasting your time with ads right off the bat. This is just one of the things that someone who has a blog or website has to decide ideally before they start on their venture. To put them up right away runs the risk of irritating readers in my opinion, but it can be helpful I guess to the blogger or website owner.

    I added the affiliate links from day one. You can see that affiliate links would surely work from the start of the blog. In such case you can see that most of the banner ads however may add the ad blindness. You can see that writing content is not that easier in that case either. So make sure when you're writing add one affiliate link. Because banner ads may not be making much in that case.

    A new blog with so many ads are really a turn-off for me, I hate such blogs, I close the tab immediately.I believe it should be great content before throwing in ads.With ads before good content one will be missing viewership because a lot of persons will not return after the views when they know you have nothing much to offer.

    Ever since I got my adsense account approved, I have been putting ads immediately on the websites I set up at day 1. I immediately put a responsive adsense code at the sidebar. Then I install Ad Injection and put an ad above posts or below posts or both.

    I do this so that I would immediately see if the ads look good with the present theme that I have incorporated. I also do that in order to see if articles would look okay with the ads. I believe that you won't lose anything if you immediately post ads on a newly set up website. Still, you need to post content right after incorporating ads in order to give visitors a reason to visit your site.

    I have to agree with your tactic. I personally haven't really noticed any negative effect by simply putting the ads up as soon as possible - along side some nice and high-quality content, of course. I think that if you'd simply put ads and hardly anything for the visitors to read then it would be bad. But since they have content, they shouldn't mind the ads either.

    I don't place ads immediately, instead, I wait for the contents to build up. I have Adsense account. I can use it on any website I want, anytime I want, however, I don't use Adsense until I have enough contents. Usually, I will upload 20 articles on my blog and have ads. In order to get most from ads, you need quality traffic. Therefore, if you do not have traffic, there is no point in having ads on your website. Therefore, you need to wait until you have enough contents and good traffic.

    That's how I do it too which is to wait for the traffic to build up before adding some basic ads to it. I wouldn't want to place ads when the clicks are not coming up often.

    Well, I'll give it to you from my perspective. Currently, I'm building out a website. Day by day increasing it with more content that has popular tags and keywords, which is as well search engine optimised but informal. Basically, I see the work of putting in time to develop content. Which eventually attracts more readers for your quality articles. Because of that, I'd say I have a passion for hosting a website and providing quality content. Therefore, the money aspect comes second. So in my opinion, it's best to build up your site with content. Gain a loyal following of active readers that engage. Then attempt to monetize your site through applying to an ad network or two. Because, generally speaking, well-established sites will always have a higher chance of getting approved compared to new blogs/forums.

    I don't mind the adds as long as the blog offers quality content. I also don't mind if they "throw adds" as you said with only a few post as long as I said it before the content is good. Otherwise I would dismiss the page inmediately and never come back... I'm not saying they need to forget about the money because that wouldn't make sense, but they do need to work on their content for me to like them.

    Some people might just be putting up ads to test out advertising mods. In another case, they might think they would get a few clicks. However, I'd probably lay off the ads until my blog, forum, etc.. gained a good amount of traffic, cause the odds of beginner forums getting any clicks are horrendously low.

    That’s also my take on a website when it has a paid advertisement that it is there only for the money. And it is regardless if it’s a new or established website. With the social media out there and ready to take in our promotions, it is better to do your own marketing program or maybe you can hire a virtual assistant. At least the marketing style has a semblance of personal effort as contrary to a paid ads.
