When you hit a wall it feels like everything stops in it's tracks. I'm here to let you know that there are ways to overcome this and you shouldn't feel so down on your luck. There are plenty of times that I've been working on something and I've hit a wall, and hit it hard, but I overcame it using a few simple tricks which I will talk about in this discussion 
What does "Hitting a wall" mean?
Well it could mean a few things, but mainly it means you've been doing something and now you're stuck and can't progress. This could be when you're designing a website and can't figure out what to do next with the design. It could also mean that you're doing an SEO campaign for a client and their rankings just decide to stop moving for a few months and you can't get anything to budge.
Some things are out of our power, like the SEO campaign example, but others can be overcome by us by doing the following...
Switching Gears
When you're working on something and you hit a wall, try switching gears for a little while and coming back to the original work later. I've done this a lot when it comes to helping someone with a WordPress theme and it works well. It will feel like I hit a wall and then I'll just go and write up some content for my websites and come back an hour or two later to keep working on the design. Usually I will break through that wall and keep chugging along like a freight train
Attack From Different Angles
I teach my little girl this every time she's struggling with homework, and it works really well. She'll be stuck on a math problem and she's taught to look at it one way, which is what she keeps doing and getting the wrong answer. I'll then calm her down and tell her to try getting the answer a different way, and it usually works. I won't give her the answer, but I will give her little hints as to how she can come up with it on her own. Once she's older she'll be able to do this on her own and I can just sit there being a proud parent because she's attacking a problem from multiple angles and not just the one way she was taught.
This trick will help you out on more than just your own problems, it can be a great way to get promoted at work because you're now considered "the problem solver" lol
Taking A Break
A lot of times I've noticed that I'm hitting a wall with my work simply because I've been doing the same thing for hours on end. This is more of a mental wall and I just need to take a break in order to recharge. When this happens I'll usually just go get lunch or watch some TV for an hour while snacking on something I probably shouldn't lol.
Taking breaks is actually a law when it comes to working a 9 to 5 and it's mainly so the employees can eat lunch. But taking a break isn't just so you can eat, it also replenishes your mental gas tank and you can continue on for another 6 hours. Not taking a break has be proven to show a downward spiral in performance because of fatigue, mental and physical.
In Conclusion:
These are just a few ways that I get through those walls when I do hit them and they tend to work for me It's normal to hit a wall when working each and every day, but with the tricks I listed above, you can likely get through them like the KoolAid guy busting through and yelling "Ohhh Yeahhh!!!!" lol

Sure the organic traffic was slowing increasing because of all the SEO I've done over time but nobody got wildly rich. They made the mistake to rely solely on SEO for their traffic and at some point, there is only so much you can do.
Usually, when I finish all the on-page optimizations and I manage to rank them first for all their main keywords in their niche I usually propose the creation of a blog or content based section where I can continuously add text based content and articles, in general, targeting their respective niche. I've had this happen with some of my clients. I've done some much stuff for them for such a long period of time that I simply felt I couldn't progress anymore.
