Advertising With Spotify

My full time job consists of marketing for a small college, so I get the opportunity to take part in various free webinars and seminars to keep up to date with marketing and advertising trends, especially in terms of social media. Most recently, I took attended a webinar which had a section that really intrigued me, and that was a section on using Spotify for marketing purposes.

The presenters outlined the various ways businesses can use Spotify to engage with your audience. There are over 100 million users of the app, and the average user spends 148 minutes a day on Spotify. It was noted that you could create playlists that you could market to your audience to get them engaged. For instance, our college could curate a "back to school" or a "late night study" playlist with the purpose of connecting with our students and prospective students.

However, more powerful for reaching those you want to convert to your service, would be the use of Spotify's audio ads or their advertising banners.

As with most marketing options, Spotify will help you target your specified audience in regards to age, gender, listening trends, and other typical demographic options. So what do you think of using the media player as a source of marketing? Could this be helpful to your business?

Well, I will be honest that I don't like any advert's sound related stuff and I never use spotify too. I just let my youtube randomly plays my music. If i have a choice to turn the adv's off, I will use that option too.

But if I pretend to be someone else and trying to be objective, any marketing's media (text, video, sound, etc) that has market is good for your business. The important thing is how good your ad is. Does your ad catchy for users or not?

For example, i hate youtube's ad so much since it has loud sound that override my volume's setting. However, sometime an ad get my attention and I kinda like it.

Personally, i don't think it will be of much help, just because my work couldn't possibly relate to Spotify, but I can see some advantages for other people

It depends on the teens. If they are interested in the stuff that the college is offering, they might click on it and you get some sales or traffic. I thought Spotify is just listening to music. Never take note of anything else.

I have never heard of advertising on Spotify.On a personal level, I try to skip ads as a free user so I am not sure if these ads would appeal to Spotify users. If your targeted market does really use Spotify regularly, perhaps you may try to do so. I will only consider it if I have enough data to convince me. I still think to advertise through mainstream social media sites and popular influencers would be better choices.

I read about spotify often But have not tried it yet, May be I'll give it a try one day, However It is good to make money with advertising but with these Add blocker nowadays it's no longer a reliable way to make money You can still make some few bucks with people who don't use them yet but still only few people will spend they few seconds to watch the ads.

I would say it wouldn't help MY business, why? Spotify is not very popular in my country so it wouldn't be of use for me.
But I guess for people with business in the US can be!

I also made a little research and found out it's more expensive than Facebook adds but I guess a catchy song has more effect than a simple add you need to read and click on...

Thanks for giving me huge techniques about spotify. S p o t i f y is a audio based social media marketing in this world. It some how gorgeous. All of the music star use this network. I do promote this social media- audio based social media any time to any of my artist clients.

I want to ask this question if the marketing you can do in Spotify will be applicable to any site and not just with sites that have music as the niche? There was an issue with Youtube that you cannot just tag your video with any keyword because if the keyword is not related to the content of the video then the channel my be ignored by the search engine. Maybe I have been hearing too many opinions.
