    What is the best WordPress plugin for e-commerce?

    Hello everybody,

    I am in desperate need of some advice because I need some information about choosing the right plugin for an e-commerce website. My friend is currently setting one up but we both don't know much about it. We checked out the WordPress's plugins section and there's so many to pick from... it's overwhelming. Many look really good such as: WooCommerce, EcWid, MarketPress, WP Commerce and more.

    Therefore, I need help. What do you guys think? What is the best WordPress plugin for e-commerce? Any suggestions?

    Yeah it's about the same answer from me Tron. WooComm is probably the best in terms of usability and flexibility. And the most popular and most used ecomm plugin for WP of them all. But what a lot of people don't realize is that WooComm is just a shopping cart at the end of the day. And there are some people that prefer to use lighter cart plugins or options instead of WooComm. Some people prefer to make their own actually. But it's free and quite evolved today so you can't go wrong! When I use the WooComm plugin though, I also make use of the WooComm Swiss Army Knife as it gives you more control over the settings of your e-commerce site. Sadly it's not available on the WP Plugin Suppository. You have to "know people" to get it these days. What is the best WordPress plugin for e-commerce?

    Ah, thanks for that informative reply Mike. Just what I needed. I really wanted more details as to why a certain plugin is worth using and so on. I also see that many of comments under you are all recommending WooCommerce so this is definitely the most obvious choice What is the best WordPress plugin for e-commerce?

    And yeah, I will look for the WooCommerce Swiss Army Knife. Perhaps I will manage to find it! Thumbs up.

    Wordpress Plugins for Ecommerce are: WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, iTheme Exchange, Shopp, Shopify, Jigoshop, Cart66, WPdeposit.

    Hey,

    thank you very much for your great suggestions but can you give me some more detailed information? Which of these plugins have you tried out yourself and which is the best one? Why? What are the pros and cons of it?

    Some people recommend WooCommerce, some the WP e-commerce, ... but nobody says why What is the best WordPress plugin for e-commerce?

    It looks like you have gotten some great feedback on this thread. Since I don't do ecommerce with Wordpress, looking forward to everyone's ideas is going to be interesting for me. I think using a good Wordpress plug in is half the Ecommerce battle.

    I use woocommerce for just over 1 year and I confess that this plugin really surprised me. I realize selling digital products and woocommerce meets me perfectly in all aspects.

    With woocommerce I stopped opting for the Saas model e-commerce platforms and saved a lot of money when it came to creating my virtual store. Highly recommend!

    Without any doubt, WooCommerce is the best plugin for the commerce. You can see that such plugins have some cost. That being said, if you can get payment gateway setup for low cost. Then surely it can be good plugin for making a good business on it's own. That's how I have managed to setup the e-commerce website for some of the clients. It's lot quicker to setup on WordPress.

    The only ecommerce plugin that I have used is WooCommerce. I don't know about other plugins, however, I can recommend WooCommerce to anyone who wants an ecommerce plugins on wordpress site. WooCommerce will make your simple wordpresssite into an ecommerce store.

    The best i have used is Jigoshop.
    it allows you to set up your online store in a matter of minutes. Their interface is very user-friendly, which enables you to easily manage your store’s inventory.     Prior to reading this thread, I had never heard about jigoshop. How do you compare this plugin with woocommerce? They say woocommerce is the best ecommerce plugin for wordpress and it is better to use wordpress with woocommerce rather than ecommerce CMS. I don't have any experience with other ecommerce CMS.

    I think it is wooecommerce and I am using this plugin for my ecommerce site.

    it is easy to set up and configure, I would like to recommend it to everyone.
