This week Google launched a new service, an awesome one, yet again. Meet: https://careers.google.com/ - a brand new service that promises to aggregate multiple jobs from multiple job website providers into one singular search engines for jobs.
Google apparently claims that it doesn't want to compete with services like LikedIn, Careerbuilder Monster or Glassdoor but instead partner with them, developing a service capable of filtering jobs from multiple sources to fit your exact needs and specifications.
Did a little testing myself and most of the jobs listed in the search engines are jobs from Google itself. I saw very few results from other companies and most of them were located in the US. I hope Google will further develop this project transforming it into a full blown search engine capable of "indexing" jobs all over the world and from any source.
Don't know about you but I think it will be very helpful to do a general job search online and not being forced to use multiple platforms just because some companies will use one specific platform while posting nothing on the others. You can miss a lot of good jobs just because you didn't apply because you haven't seen their offer on the right platform.
The platform itself is still under development. A few days ago it didn't have an apply button, the jobs were listed by you there wasn't any call to action button leading you to an external page. Now I just checked and Google had introduced the apply button leading you to an actual page where you can apply for the job you are interested in.
This service will be fully functional very soon in the US and I bet it will be a worldwide thing in a few months. The question is: do you think Google will remain a third party link in the job seeking industry or do you think they will eventually make it possible to post a job directly to this search engines skipping the other platforms.
I personally think Google is looking to take over the job search industry in the future. LinkedIn is getting stronger and this is Google's response, a brand new job search engine, fast and clean doing what Google does best: provide search results.
If Google ends up doing the right thing and not abandon this project, I'm pretty sure it will take over everything job-related in a few years.

I can only imagine how popular this will get over time. Most people probably don't know that it's released yet but just watch it fly off once the word gets spread! I will give it a try myself to see how functional it is. Thanks for the information, I didn't know that they've just launched this. It seems like another classical, genius, move by Google. They are just so good at knowing what to develop - they have probably seen the steady rise of unemployment and people facing these problems. They also know that majority of people nowadays try their luck at searching for jobs online so, hey why not make Google Jobs. I can only imagine how popular this will get over time.
