    The very basics of a great SEO campaign

    If you're just staring out with SEO, I'm sure you've read through a ton of books and online forums to figure out what works the best.  Well I'm here to break it down in the simplest way I can and what you should be doing The very basics of a great SEO campaign  A lot of us know what we need to be doing in terms of on page optimization, off page optimization, social media management and content creation.  But do you know what you should be focusing on and why?

    Everything that deals with SEO stems from 3 main factors, and they are:

    1. On page optimization
    2. Quality content
    3. Quality backlinks

    Now some of you are saying "It's way more difficult than just doing that and getting top rankings!" well yes and no.  You need to have your pages optimized, and that takes some time and knowledge to do it properly.  You need quality content that is not spun and doesn't look like it has 1,000 of your keywords in it while the article is only 2,000 words long.  And you need quality backlinks, but if you don't know what to look for it could actually hurt you.  So it is this simple, but it does take some knowledge prior to implementation.

    Trying to understand everything that there is to do with SEO while running your business can be mind boggling.  This is why I always tell successful business owners to outsource the work so they can focus on their business.  Usually they outsource the work to me, and I'm grateful, but sometimes they want to just keep chugging away at it themselves because they think they can handle it.

    Below I'm going to talk about your on page optimization, your quality content and your quality backlinks so you can get a good idea of what to do.  Of course you can always outsource this type of work, but remember, you get what you pay for.


    1. On Page Optimization
    When it comes to rankings, you can't get them without proper on page optimization.  If you're building hundreds of high quality links and writing up great content, it won't matter at all unless you have everything on page done properly.

    When it comes to on page optimization you will need to focus on a few things, these are:
    1. Titles: 
      Writing up titles that are engaging as well as optimized will always pull in traffic as well as get you higher rankings.  I like to get my keyword in the title once, and I try to get it right at the beginning so Google is for sure to see it lol.
    2. Descriptions: 
      Writing up descriptions for each of your pages is a great way to let Google know what your website is all about.  You can get your keyword in the description a couple times and still make it readable.  Just make sure you're not putting your keyword in there 10 times because Google will hate that.
    3. Meta Keywords: 
      Now meta keywords aren't really necessary anymore because Google doesn't really look at them anymore.  You should still add them for the small search engines out there that might still use them because they could send you some traffic.
    4. InterLinking:
      When it comes to interlinking, you can do it from within your content (recommended) or your navigation menus.  Linking from within your content will allow you to show the search engine spiders multiple articles and give them portals all over your website in order for you to get more of your pages noticed in a short amount of time.
    5. Responsive: 
      Having a responsive design (mobile friendly website) is now a necessity because Google will rank you higher if you have one.  Google ranks responsive designs higher now because more than half of their traffic is coming from mobile devices.  It only makes sense that Google wants to make everyone happy, so if you're not running a responsive design, you'll just falling behind.


    2. Quality Content
    Have you ever heard the saying "Content is King"?  Well now you have, if you haven't, and it basically means that with high quality content on your website you are massively increasing your chances of ranking high within the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).  Pages that have 1,500+ words on them regularly rank higher than something with just 300 words of content.  This is because Google and the other search engines will be able to go through your content and know more about what's going on if you have 1,500 words rather than just a snippet of 300 words.  And really, can you get a good amount of information stuffed into 300 words of content?  Probably not lol.

    You'll need to keep your content relevant to your niche and that means you can't post about lotion if you're an automotive website lol.  Stick with what your website is really about and don't branch off.  If you're sticking with your niche and writing great content that has 1,500+ words, you will notice that you're going to naturally rank for some long tailed keywords with relatively little effort done by you The very basics of a great SEO campaign

    You'll need to think of your keywords prior to just hammering out content to publish on your website.  You can write up great content, but if it's not optimized with your keywords, there's not as likely of a chance that you will be able to rank for them.  You don't want to go over 3% keyword density just to be safe.  This means that for every 100 words of content in your post, you want to have 3 keywords or less within it.  So if you have a 1,500 word article, you will want no more than 45 of those words to be your target keyword.  It sounds ridiculous because if you're talking about that specific keyword you would think that it would be in there more often.  If you want your content to be readable and user friendly, don't go over the 3% keyword density and obtain a penalty from the search engines The very basics of a great SEO campaign


    3. Quality Backlinks
    After you've done all the on page optimization and created some great content, you will need some quality backlinks aimed at your pages in order to begin ranking higher and higher for your desired keywords.  Google will measure your authority based on how many authoritive links are aimed at your website. 

    This isn't always the easiest thing to do because some websites may be seen as an authority now, but they could be penalized and then share that nice penalty with you.  What you'll want to look for are websites with a DA (domain authority) of 20 or higher.  This means that Google has evaluated them as a decently authoritive website and you will usually be safe placing a link on their pages.  Now there are plenty of services out there that offer high DA links for $10, but I would avoid those since they are on random pop up websites that only got their authority because of redirects and spammy actions.  The DA of those websites will only drop, and that's not good for you in the long run.

    You'll need to stay niche relevant as well.  This means basically what it sounds like, you can't put your links on a tech website if you're selling dog toys lol.  Stick within your niche, dog toys for example, and get your links on dog and cat websites.  Branching out to niches and industries that aren't related will help you slightly, but not anywhere as much as a niche relevant backlink on a high DA website The very basics of a great SEO campaign



    In Conclusion:
    SEO is not an easy thing to do if you get super technical with it.  But it's basic core is on page optimization, quality content and quality backlinks.  Take your time when you're doing your own SEO and you should be just fine.  When you're starting to make enough money, I would outsource the work to a credible company that will do all the work for you The very basics of a great SEO campaign

    Great article about SEO campaign. There are many ways to get traffic to your site On Page Optimization is the first step and then we should have good and unique content which helps to get traffic and the third method is quality backlinks if you will get quality backlinks from quality sites it will also help your site to rank high in Google pages.

    I am now focusing on the on-page optimization for SEO capability of the site because I think that is the paramount need of the site. High quality content will always give the ranking a good boost especially if the site is ranked low by search engines. The regular uploading of quality content will change that low ranking but the content should be well written and unique which means it was not copied from another source.

    Running a SEO campaign sounds daunting for new bloggers or starters in any online business. What I usually say is, if you can afford to hire an SEO consultant to assist you then do so. It's all based on individual preference really..

    I was checking the steve pavlina website. And I have realized that SEO gets proper treatment if you know how to balance the content. As in what you can do to make SEO easier. I think some people choose the content and influence approach. Some people have bad content and lot of backlinks. So it just does not work like that. You have to understand that part for sure.

    SEO was massively easy in the past. In fact, comically, a person could send really badly designed websites, often using exact match domains, to the top fairly easily, even for a few slightly competitive terms. However, though, now it's not the case - and that's a good thing, of course. I mean, otherwise, it can be cheating the visitors.

    I wonder why content is not the number 1 in your list. Being the king, content is the most important for a website even with SEO capability. With original content that is informative and relevant to the niche, you can never go wrong. However, I know that a good content is not a guarantee for a higher SEO ranking because SEO is built to evaluate so many factors that’s why SEO specialists cannot clearly define the timeline of the SEO campaign.
