    How to receive payment that is vastly overdue

    I've been working with an Affiliate company called TPMN and they have been noticeably going under, but not so much that they cannot pay their employees. They owe outstanding invoices from 3 months ago and I am not really sure what the best way to go about retrieving it is.

    Oh yeah that's a bit of a tricky one because if they are genuinely having problems and are about to go into liquidation / bankruptcy, then you'll have to go through the courts to get it but there's no guarantee you will, I'm not sure how it works but you would seek legal advice about it. You can find out a lot online and go on legal advice / money matter forums and ask around on those and someone more educated on it should be able to tell you what your rights are and point you in the right direction.

    But I would say you basically have 3 options.

    1. Keep trying to get your payment.
      Keep on keeping on. Emailing them, calling them, busting their chops on social media. Never insult and threaten them. Like by saying, look I'm going to write a bad review of you on Yelp if you don't pay up or something. They may have bigger problems and already be going down the pan anyway. And they might be a bit peeved about their business going south too. So be persistent and even annoying in your persistence but never insult or make threats. Although you can make joke about doing that as though you're sort of joking but you're not. It probably wont do any good still though but it's probably worked in the past too. It may just be possible they think, oh let's just pay this one off as he's a real squawker. It's the ones that don't talk up get paid last or not at all in these scenarios!     2. Get the mob, the mafia or some heavies together and pay them to go round there and "sort 'em out" and collect that way.
      Of course I'm only trying to shine some levity on the matter! I'm not saying do it by far, just having a crack but I do feel your pain. But this does sometimes work for some people in the world that do that believe it or not. Even though it's probably highly illegal. And one should never take the law into his or her own hands. And anyway, if they are really struggling, this probably wont work anyway and you just lost out even more and next you have the FBI knocking on your door...
    3. Take legal action
      Okay this is probably the most sensible of all options you have. Although it is one that could also end up costing you money in legal fees to pay a lawyer/solicitor to handle it for you. And again, I'm not sure how it all works but if that company has officially registered itself as bankrupt, you basically have even less hope of getting your money from them. That said it could lead to you rightfully getting paid what you're lawfully owed.
    4. Just do nothing
      In this option you would just basically do nothing and hope on hope that they'll eventually pay you. If it's already a few months late though you may be able to assume it's not coming at all or not. They might be waiting to get paid for something themselves and when they do, they'll release your money to you. Who knows!

    I'd go with option 1 for now ,but it depends how much it is.

    But I am very sad that you have to deal with this How to receive payment that is vastly overdue I've been through it once myself and I've lost few hundred dollars. Was really frustrating to accept since you earned the money. I agree with Mike though. Don't give up.

    I looked at their website and I see they have an email, address and a phone number listed so I'd suggest that you call them. Companies that are trying to not pay usually ignore the emails so it's better to talk to them on the phone. Don't go too rough at first and try to explain them the situation in a polite way, if they act dumb or something then you adjust your attitude accordingly.

    Depending how much money we are talking about you can also look into taking legal actions like Mike suggested. But if you do go down this way, you have to know it will take some time to get this resolved and you will have to invest some money into it as well. I wish you the best of luck!

    I am trying to be persistent in inquiring for the money, but now they're just plain ignoring me now. So not really sure how to deal with it especially since I'm overseas. The company is also a British company while I have no immediate knowledge of how their law works. I would assume it's similar to that of the U.S law though nothing is for sure. They used to have a 90-day policy where if it was 90 days overdue they would pay immediately but that seems like it's out of the window. Thank you all for your feedback hopefully the godfather will help me out.

    I'm sure you already did, have you tried contacting them directly on the phone? First, I would see if they give a favorable response. Then, voice your concerns, how you would like to get paid and how you don't want to pursue legal action.

    I've been paid from them before it's just now that they are running into "hard times". There are a few of my friends that use the website themselves and they say they're getting the same response. So I guess I'm probably just going to have to forget about the money which is pretty unfortunate. Thank you, everyone, for trying to help out. It's the thought that counts.

    Card payment such as PayPal and the rest have proved to be the best way to receive money as you're working on the internet. So, look at the option that will be fine with the company and select for your payment to go through.

    If they are going under, will you ever get your money? This is actually really unfair, because they have probably been paid by the client and have no money management skills. If they file for bankruptcy you will be in the line of creditors waiting to get your money. Keep writing those emails. Even write a demand with the intention to sue. It may not do you any good. Your best bet is to learn your lesson and move on.Join a company that has a good reputation for payment.

    Is this another case of a site that fails to pay its workers? This reminds me of a big social media style of a site that publishes articles and pays the writer based on the likes and comments that the article gets. When the going got better that there were lots of writers who were submitting, the problem of non-payment started until the owner admitted that the company is bankrupt and doesn’t have the capability to pay anymore.
