    Using Emojis on a Business's social media profiles

    When it comes to using emojis on a social media profile we don't think twice about it. We'll post it and add some text because that's who we are and we're happy or sad at the time of posting. When it comes to social media posts for company profiles it can be a little different in terms of using emojis on posts. It's difficult to convey emotion within text whether it be a social media post or a text message, and that's why we use emojis in our messages. Below I'll go over what I think about using emojis in social media posts.


    Should a company use emojis on their social media posts


    1. Emojis can make your business more personable and less robotic.
    People will make a purchase from a social media post that seems to be more personal and not like a robotic automated response. By putting an emoji within a post or at the end of one you will increase your sales because people know you're in good spirits and actually taking time to respond to them. You will be able to lower the guard of your clients, visitors, guests, readers, etc. by using emojis and they will talk to you like a normal person, which is lovely.

    2. Image Increase Conversions
    When using emojis you're technically putting images within the text. We all know that images will increase click through rates and with that being increased we will get more sales. So if you're increase user trust like mentioned in the first section as well as increasing your click throughs, you'll make more money every time Using Emojis on a Business

    3. Could Be Situational
    When you are posting emojis you will need to be in specific niches. Now you will be able to use them pretty often, but if you're lets say a lawyer, no one will want to see "Just lost my first case today :'( " Companies in a niche like law, surgery, dental, etc. should probably use emojis in specific situations. You'll need to be strategic in order not to piss anyone off, but you can usually use them if you're smart about it.

    4. Don't make an emoji the main point of your post
    Emojis are fun, we get it, but don't load up your business post with 26 emojis in a row like Using Emojis on a Business Using Emojis on a Business Using Emojis on a Business Using Emojis on a Business Using Emojis on a Business Using Emojis on a Business and so on, because people will take you less seriously. Using an emoji in one of you posts is fine, but over doing it will lose followers, clients, readers, etc.

    5. Split testing will help determine if you should use them.
    If you're trying to get in touch with your followers then you're already on your way to marketing. If you're not split testing your posts to see which brings in the best engagement then you're already falling behind. If your market is younger people, I'd say under 21, then you'll usually be safe to use emojis. Even with that, you'll want to split test your posts and watch what gets the best engagement.

    6. Make it fun
    Social media platforms are where people gather to talk and have fun mainly. Even if you're in a serious niche, you can throw some emojis in there if you're smart about it. Like said above, be sure to do testing to make sure if you get a better or worse engagement with your posts.

    7. Good Judgement
    If you're always using emojis in your posts you can actually ruin the emotion you're trying to convey. If you're always putting smileys after everything then people will become numbe to it and not see that you're happy. Regardless if you're always happy, you'll need to use good judgement when it comes to putting emojis in your social media posts.

    8. Only use them after a relationship has been established.
    I can't stress this enough. I see plenty of people trying to get my business and they start off with a sentence trailing with an emoji. I understand that emojis will lower a persons guard, but NEVER user it as an introductory email, message, etc. Only begin to use emojis within social media posts, specifically PMs, when you've established a good amount of a business relationship with a person. Even if you've been working with someone for an entire year you'll still have to gauge if they're the right type of person to send an emoji or two.




    In Conclusion:
    You can't use Emojis all willy nilly, you're going to have to be strategic when it comes to posting them on your business profiles. Even if you're in a perfect niche to add emojis everywhere, you'll need to use them sparingly because people will get sick of them eventually.

    Nice one Razzy. I think it's good to know these things with the nonstop increased use of social media in business purposes. The extremely important tip is to not over do it. I feel so ''turned off'' from a business or a site if they spam ten emojis in everything they post - I know they're trying to be ''hip'' but it's just dumb. Please use them in moderation. Just think about your business and who's your target audience before posting any.


    I feel like they're particularly popular in Instagram, among tons of hashtags.

    I have never seen many businesses using emojis, not even on Facebook. You bring up a really good point Razzy! Emojis do light up the mood and may even increase the CTR and conversion rates. You just have to use it, test them and look very careful at the analytics of everything. Once you determine emojis influence in a positive way your website's traffic, keep doing it, but not excessive as you said.

    Also, in certain niche emojis aren't really necessary and may even come up as unprofessional. I don't really see any emojis in a high luxury niche for example.

    Emoji's can be beneficial but at the same time hurt your business. This all depends on the consumer. Sure, emojis can lighten up the mood and make people more likely to click on your website through advertising and such but some people may see them as immature and annoying. This all comes down to the target audience.

    As long as the emojis are relevant and not spammed I think that they are mostly beneficial.

    Emojis are more of informal way of communication. We make use of them in the personal communication. I don't think a lot of business can find it as professional use. It does however sound a bit off and not right to use in the business profile. So it all comes down how the people are making use of it. I think for my business I may not be making use of the emoji such as that for any customer level communication.

    This reminds me of the days when the photo in the resume of an applicant looked improper for some interviewer and HR officials. But later on, the standard was the resume with a photograph of the applicant. With an emoji on your post, I guess you can use it sparingly because overdoing it will be annoying. I approve of reading a post with an emoji once in a while but when the post always has an emoji then that gives me a negative impression.
