I'm sure there are some SEO companies out there reading this thinking I'm a jerk, but that's their opinion lol. I run an SEO company and I think we do it pretty well and our customers love us for one simple thing... We Work With Them!!! We have set prices and if they're hesitant to sign up due to the prices being high, we will always work with them so they're successful. If they can't afford to pay $500+ a month for our basic plan we will talk it over via email or phone call and figure out exactly what they need. I'll do an analysis of what I think they need and go over it with them and tell them if I can reduce the price or if I can't, but usually I can.
So why would these uncompromising companies not be for me?
Well if the company isn't willing to move around their services in order to work with you, it means one of two things.

I've never used smoke signals to contact someone with. I guess that would only work on non-windy days right? ;) Tell it like it is sister!! lol and when it comes to dealing with an SEO company, negotiation is your friend! Some people know this and are great hagglers! They realize that an SEO company (even though mainly online) can be haggled with in the same way as you might when buying a pair of jeans from a market stall. My old man, he used to take me to the market just about every weekend and would buy me a new t-shirt or a jacket or something and he would always haggle with the sellers. He wouldn't get a lot off most times but he'd still quite often save a fiver or something where a pair of jeans was selling for £25 he'd get them for £20. And his motto was, if you don't ask, you don't get! And that's a logic you can apply with these SEO providers as well. I'm not talking about being cheeky and having a lot of front and trying to get a 50% discount lol. Nobody likes those types of buyers and you can't sell a service for much less than it's worth else you run the risk of devaluing it in their eyes and then soon enough, everyone else and their friend and their dog will want it at that price too. But by being a "smart buyer" you can certainly save yourself some wonga by, at the very least, asking if they would take less. Although sometimes, for some SEO providers, this can often mean you get assigned to someone that isn't one of the best or nicest team members to have work on your SEO!
