So I have this new feature suggestion, and wanted to know if other users of this marketplace would find this feature beneficial. So here it is..
New Feature Suggestion: Combining messages of the same user
How it works
On your inbox page you have the ability to choose multiple messages to archive, mark as read and so forth. I think it would be wise for there to be a combine option to combine messages of the same user creating many new messages instead of just replying to the message they already sent you. Many users create new messages instead of just replying to the one they have open. With this new feature suggestion, you'll have the ability to combine all the messages using the checkboxes (that are already there) and maybe choosing 'Combine' from the dropdown menu.
Problem: Sometimes users will create multiple messages, this could clutter up your inbox fairly quickly.
Solution: A feature to combine the messages of the same user. This would save you time so you can reply to all the buyers/sellers messages in 1 message instead of going to each message and replying to them individually.
Do you think this feature would be as beneficial to you, as I believe it would be for me? Also, I want established sellers/buyers to voice their opinion as they are most knowledgeable in how the inbox system works.
This is NOT a new marketplace feature, however I'm hoping it gets created!
Yeah I would like a delete ability as well. Only to tidy up my messages and clear out tons of old messages that aren't needed to be kept any more. Not even for historical purposes! They do come in handy to have around though sometimes when you need to refer to something in a conversation. You can archive them but that just moves them to that label it doesn't remove them but yeah. It's not essential but just would be a nice feature to be able to delete them you know? :)

Yeah it sounds like a legitimate feature to be fair Everett! It would be nice to bunch together messages from the same user. Especially as some people send you a new message instead of just replying in a current message. And it can end up causing you to have tons of messages in your inbox. Although there is an archive feature, you can't currently delete inbox messages and it would nice if you could. More just to clear them out than anything else. I don't find that it's a problem myself though that much. But it would probably free up some space on the server if people could delete their inbox messages. I'm sure some people must have many hundreds of them from a long time ago just sitting there and when you add them all up for everyone, that's a lot of KB! :)
