Top 10 Reasons Why You're Not As Successful As You Could Be

Are you looking for success? Or just want to be a more successful person in life, in your career, just as a person? Then here's my Top 10 Reasons Why You're Not As Successful As You Could Be. Knowing these things can make a lot of difference for good in your life. Both in terms of your own personal life, your work and career (especially as a freelancer) and they should shine a light in those dark areas of your life that need to be exposed, cleaned and hung out to dry. Because if you're any of these things, and don't change those ways, you wont be as successful as you could be!

1: You're Too Lazy
Sorry but there's no real easy way to say this! If you're not trying hard enough when you could try harder, then you're lazy! Everyone you meet that is successful in business is successful 9/10 because they have worked their butt off to get where they are today. It's okay to be lazy if that's what you want to be. Just don't whine and moan about not being rich and successful if you are. Use the steam to power your dreams!

2: You're Too Fearful
Hey look, if you're afraid of anything, like afraid of looking foolish, afraid of what people, friends or family might think or say. And just afraid to take risks and step outside of your "comfort zone". Then the chances are that you're not going to be able to achieve anything in life. So you better either grow a spine and man up or be prepared not to achieve much if anything at all!

3: You Have No Goals
If there's one thing I've learned in life, it's that things don't just fall into your lap! If you want something, you have to go out and get it! Nobody will bring it to you unless you're the King or other Royal Family. Most of us aren't Royal Family so we have to go and get them if we want them. Listen, everyone needs goals, dreams, plans. Without them you're just playing it by ear and treading water. And what happens when you tread water? You get wet feet!

4: You're Too Negative
Have you ever heard the expression "positive things happen to positive thinkers"? Why do you think they say that? Because it's true! Thoughts aren't just in your head! They are electrical signals, cosmic waves that have an affect and influence on you, and those around you. So stop thinking negatively and doubting stuff and start being positive and having FAITH! Also, if you are surrounded by negative people - dump them! Surround yourself with positive people and that will reflect on you, positively in your working and personal life!

5: You Waste Time
Some people spend a lot of time working on, not working! That isn't going to get you far in life. If you aren't a very productive person, and you put things off until the last minute until you absolutely have to do them, then how can you expect to get anything done or even achieve much in life or even achieve your goals if you keep putting them off? You wont, so you may as well just throw in the towel now if you're going to carry on being like that. And it's not enough to say "I'll change tomorrow". Change today! Tomorrow is never promised..

6: You Think Too Small (Like a 5 minute clock)
Big things happen to big thinkers! Likewise, small things happen for people that think small. If you think too small about stuff, and only think about the day you're in, instead of thinking about the whole month, the year, or even years in advance, you'll never get anywhere or climb that ladder to success very fast at all. Why take small steps when you can take big strides?

7: You're Not Hungry For It
How hungry are you for the money and fame and everything else that can come with being successful? Because unless you're starving for it, unless you're making your fingertips bleed because you're working on it that hard, you're probably not going to see that success anyway! You may even be scared of what happens if you do get it. Or perhaps you sometimes tell yourself that you don't deserve it. Well I'm here to tell you right now that's some serious negative BS your brain is telling you! Recognize that as a negative thought and dump it out with the trash!

8: You Don't Believe It
This one is the same as being positive really. But some people believe it's not possible to achieve success simply because society or someone has told them that. Society tells you that only a select few people are marked to succeed and that everyone else should just settle and be happy with what they have. F that! That's some serious crap! It's up to YOU what you want to believe and if anyone tells you differently you can give them the middle finger and tell them to go jump! I'll meet you at the front of the line that is queuing up for the "I Believe and Can Achieve" job.

9: Social B.S.
Social media is a great place for many reasons. For researching, for finding clients, work and just for socializing and staying in touch with friends and family. But it's also a complete time suck as well! You know it, I know it, everyone knows it! If you spend about 50% of your day endlessly trauling social media sites, well that's time wasted you could have "invested" into your future! Trust me, you don't need to know what everyone is up to or what they had on their toast for breakfast this morning. Life goes on without knowing these things..

10: You Don't Have The X Factor
If we are to believe everything society told us, nobody would get anything done, nobody would achieve anything! Society tells you, you're not good enough, you're not smart enough, you're not good looking enough, you're not talented enough. Rubbish! Anyone that believes these lies is using them as excuses not to achieve all that they can. The simple truth is, there are many jerks, muppets, fools and idiots that are successful today who chose not to listen to this negative rubbish and believe what they wanted and not what society or someone else told them.

Conclusion
Success isn't something that comes to you. You have to go to it. Success doesn't have a pair of legs and can't be summoned by whistling at it like you would a dog. Success is always situated at the top of a hill and you're situated at the bottom. If you want to grab a hold of that success in your hands, you need to put in the footwork, the legwork, you need to carve a path towards it. And never give up or give in until you're at the top with it!

Great post mike and so true. It's like when someone say's " I can't " well there is no such thing as can't . if you are affraid of failure then don't be so what if you fail you dust your self off and get back up on you feet and try all over again.
Life is life at the end of the day you only live once so give it your best. Also what I normally do I write a list of goals I would like to achieve and tick them off as I achieve them. And also write brain storms with your idea . I was actually doing that today . For example with keywords. Think of the main keyword or topic you want . And then just simply do brain storm and think of other related words with it . Not saying use them but it gives idea of what you can think of and maybe use through out your site.
My motto is don't think negative as they say like attracts like , so be positive remain positive and think positive you will see how different the situations turn out to be and honest just by changing the way you think you change the energy around you. Ever been with someone grumpy or stressed and you find when you leave that person you to feel like they did. That was an example is why thinking and been positive will bring only the good and don't let doubt in.

Thanks mate yeah there is much power in the written word! More than we anticipate when it comes to brainstorming! As one thing leads to another, one word leads to another and before you know it you're Donald Trump!

Yeah. I believe this post, Mike. Sometimes I am a bit too lazy, but I can not help it! I constantly get sidetracked as well, is there a cure for that? LOL

But anyhow, most successful people used all their energy to get whatever it was/is started and to help it grow. They give it their everything. Ever heard of people putting their life savings into a business and then the business failing? This is a fear most have, that their business will fail. A lot of businesses do fail, and a lot of them will starting out. If your business DOES fail do NOT give up. Try again, and try again harder. It takes people many tries to make a successful business, or to accomplish things, don't be let down if your business isn't successful the first go around. Make some changes, and gain the experience if it does fail, and perhaps the next try you'll succeed.

I give props to anyone starting a business, or doing whatever it is to make an income. It's very hard. Just keep up with it, and believe that it will succeed.

Yeah! According to BusinessZone, more than 400,000 new businesses were set up in the UK alone in 2015. However 20% of those new businesses failed within the first year and 50% won't be around by a year later. That still leaves 320000 businesses running though so it's the odds aren't that bad! But it's very true like you say, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again! And it's not about how many times you get knocked down, it's about how many times you can get back up!

I don't see any of these in me except #5. Perhaps I am wasting my time. I want to become a successful webmaster, however, in order to make money I am working on short term projects. I am writing articles for $5, posting on forums for few cents and rewriting articles for $2.
I think I will also have to agree with #10. May be I don't have X factor.

I think one of the most important element in a business or career is having a goal because the goal is what gives you the motivation to make it good. I find in some employees working under me that those without goals in life are those lackadaisical with their performance as if they are just passing time in the office while, on the other hand, those with goals show their diligence for the job and concern for the company. In improving yourself, set a goal that you can achieve in a short time and another goal that you can achieve in a long time.
