    Facebook seems to be focusing on more personalization

    I was just reading about the recent introduction of adding featured photos on one's profile page. One can add up to 5 photos, which are basically the photos one likes best. Apart from that there is also a section which urges users to introduce themselves and describe who they are. Before one could only have a list of basic info, such as where one studied, worked, and status information, and just the profile picture and the cover photo. What do you think about these recent additions that are being allowed on Facebook? Have you added the featured photos and any other personal information?

    I haven't used this new feature as I'm not active on Facebook. However, I can totally see why Facebook are changing things up and adding new features. Just recently they added the "background color thing" on your posts. - They know they'll have to come up with new things and they're doing it. I'm glad to see these new features actually, but I won't be using Facebook more because of them.

    Neither do I. I was thinking that it is most probably due to the fact that the really avid Facebook users are those who love posting countless pictures and selfies, and sharing what they are up to, even if it is something silly. But for those who prefer to remain more private, this change is not going to have much of a positive effect on them.

    Facebook is just a simple way for the CIA/NSA to make sure your details are up to date so tell them nothing and also use software to remove meta tags from any images that you upload and don't give them any phone numbers unless you want to be tracked walking down the street.

    It is not a question of facebook being good and more a question of the American CIA/NSA monopoly doing anything it can to lock everyone else out but don't worry my SEO friends because one day you might be making a living from being paid to remove/corrupt all this data that is being collected on us all.

    I think the sponsored post and the post boosting option are the reason it is going more personal. And it is collecting a lot of data where you can see how the personalization is helping. Many advertisers are reaching more people. And this process has helped a lot of business to make sales. I don't think it's going to be too much good in future but in terms of business conversion it is indeed a good option.

    I don't really bother putting a lot of information on my Facebook profile, as well as legit ones on my personal profile. First is because I mainly change my address on my profile page for humor purposes and because I don't find it necessary to fill out so much information. They're just asking so much sometimes, and barely anyone actually goes to your "About" page to see what you put in there.

    I think Facebook has the intention of keeping a good hold on its users. We have to accept that we love seeing photos and thereby that’s gives us the impetus to post photos of ourselves too. Is there any other social media with that function of having so many photos in the profile page? And with all those bio data that I’m sure are not used for now but maybe someday Facebook will force us to use those empty baskets of personal information so it can directly trash the competition of other social media networks.
