I'd say that 99.9% of the people reading this know exactly what SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is, but for those who don't... It's the act of optimizing your website to increase your rankings in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) in order to obtain free website traffic that converts much better than many other free sources.
If you know, or don't know, what SEO is that's not a big deal because the Yoast SEO plugin can help you along the way with anything that has to do with on page optimization 
I absolutely love this plugin because it's like a mentor holding my hand through the entire process of optimizing my pages I've been doing SEO and Online Marketing since 2003 so I know exactly what to do, but it's nice to have a step by step setup to show me what to do and if I did something a little too much like over optimizing my content with too many keywords.
The Yoast SEO plugin will tell you how long your titles should be, how long your descriptions should be, how long your content is and what the keyword density is and how to fix all of these if needed It also has a sitemap generator that is extremely helpful in getting your pages indexed pretty quick

Now any plugin with 1,000,000 plugins is definitely a heavy hitter in the plugin game But look at the amount of positive 5 star reviews compared to the negative 1 star reviews. A lot of the big plugins don't even have half of the positive reviews the Yoast SEO plugin does The amount of updates that come along with this plugin are pretty amazing as well. The updates come with any major, or minor, updates there is to the Google search algorithm and that means there are a good amount because the search algorithm is updated almost every day
If you have a wordpress website, I highly suggest you download the Yoast SEO plugin and use it to optimize every page of your website or blog to help increase your traffic over time
