Who Are You?! - Who Am I?!
Who Am I? - No, I don't refer to the Jackie Chan movie from 1995.
What I'm talking about is the fact that I am hitmeasap. I've been a member on SEOClerks since Jun 18, 2012, and I've always been "hitmeasap" during my freelancing career.
With that being said, I am hitmeasap, but that's more than just my username or nickname. - It's my brand. It's my business.
So, the fact that I've been thinking of changing username, might not come as a surprise for some, meanwhile it's a surprise for myself in some ways. - And I have a hard time thinking I'd be able to do it "flawlessly" so to speak. I think it will be confusing for literally hundreds of people. Both friends and clients, but also to "random people" on SEOClerks for instance.. And obviously for myself too. Especially once the change have been made.
What do you think? - Is it possible to just change your name like that, or would it affect other things as well, which I haven't even covered above?
Would you do it and have you thought about doing it?

I used to have a different username here to what I used to have. When I first signed up, I had the username of [b]idealinfos[/b]. That was my sort of business name when I first started out in the world of Internet Marketing. Ideal Infos basically means ideal information. With the information being knowledge and knowledge being power. Or something like that! I didn't really put much thought into it I don't think but I've never actually branded that or anything. However, after I started seeing some success on SEOClerks, I realized that it might be better if my name was changed to something more, personable that people could identify and relate to. Plus with my name as Mike, thus, it was changed into idealmike and I'm idealmike to this day! :)
So you can see why I changed my username. And for all intents and purposes, it seemed to help me as well. People like names that are actual names of people. I know I do! So if you can incorporate your name into your name somehow that might help you from that perspective.
But you're a Level X5 user here Andre, I think that speaks more for you than whatever your username might be! :)

And sure, I can totally see your point with me being a Level X5 user on SEOClerks, but if I'll ever change my username, I want it to be bigger than that. I must say, that I do believe that "[i][b]hitmeasap[/b][/i]" has found it ways to people's hearts, mind or frustration on more than one occasion.. - But you got me thinking in another topic, when I talked about domains for my blog.. "hitmeasap" does actually sound like an alternative addmefast site, or it could be one of those things.. And that's not what I'm after. - I'm looking for something more personalized, so to speak. - Which is why I've been thinking about my old domain I had years ago. "IMStrand.com".
That's Internet Marketer Strand, as Strand is my last name, or Internet Marketing Strand.. And Strand could stand for both my last name but also for a few other things in English. - So it's like a "win/win" somehow :D

My reasoning was that I like to build my brand and I am a blogger, so using a username that was not my name wasn't doing me any favors. I asked Support to change it for me and they did.
I am not sure about your reasoning for wanting to change your username but I have a feeling it would do you some good. I get the sense that you are about to do some sort of metamorphosis (think caterpillar to butterfly) and if that is the case, a new username would be awesome.
