Writing Ebooks in my Native Language - Swedish.

Do you think I'll get sales, if I write ebooks in Swedish?

Hey freelancers,
As most of you know, I'm not native in English. Despite that, I still write both ebooks and tons of content in English on a daily basis.

What I've been thinking of lately, is if it would be possible to write ebooks in Swedish.. And if that could lead to sales?

Have you ever written content in other languages? - Have you ever sold ebooks you've written in other ?languages?

And, do you know if and how, I can find information regarding people who's interested in freelancing etc, from different countries?

Interesting topic Andre. You know what? I think you may just be onto something here. There must be loads of people that want to make money online and freelancing in Sweden and a book written in your native language teaching people to do just that would probably be so much more appealing to them than an English one.

It would certainly be easier for you to write one in Swedish I'm sure! Perhaps you could translate one of the ebooks you have already written to Swedish and see how it sells in your country? Then it wouldn't be as much work as writing a new ebook.

I haven't written an ebook in any other language since I am English.

Thank you Lynne, and yeah. That's what I've been thinking. I could basically just translate one of my previous ebooks and sell it after that, but I'm also interested in finding a way of getting some information about how many people in Sweden that actually are interested in freelancing.. As I've almost never encountered anyone from Sweden so far. - Sure, I've never tried before either actually, so I do understand that I could find a bunch of people if I just tried to.. But I would love to get some sort of insights in general so to speak, before I decide if I'll go this route or not. - Thank you though, I appreciate it!

Hmm I would have thought you would already be on this Andre! Your English is impeccable sir! And you sure do have the gift of the gab!

Well, you have a good way with words, English words anyway. So I'd imagine that you excelled twice as much in your own language!

I've never written anything in another language let alone an eBook. The last time I wrote anything in another language was at school when I was learning German and French but can't even remember most of what I learned back then!

I just recently installed the Memrise and Duolingo apps on my phone though as they provide an easy way to learn any language you want. They have simple spoken tests and that you can do for basic to intermediate language learning and have been messing around with them both lately although I find Duolingo much easier and nicer to use.

You should get them yourself. I recommend them to anyone that wants to learn another language quickly and easily.

I can totally see why you would assume that Mike, and I should probably have tried this years ago.. But I've actually never really thought about it earlier.. Until recently. - Most likely due to the fact that I've always done my business internationally myself.. So I've somehow "ruled out" Sweden as an option.

I'll have to try to get some more insights about this.. To see if there's a chance to make something happen in Sweden too.

Andre there must be loads of people in Sweden that would be interested in freelancing, I'll bet my ass there are.

Selling an ebook in Swedish will seriously pull those people in. I am sure they will be much more likely to follow the advice of a fellow citizen than someone else.

I would love to know how you get on with this. It sounds really exciting.

But I'm definitely interested, I mean.. Why shouldn't I write in my own language? - It's literally crazy that I haven't done this before.

Maybe you need to do a personal survey on the Swedish speaking people because they are your target market. I don’t speak Swedish so you cannot sell me that book. My suggestion is for you to create a Facebook Group or Facebook Page that is directly related to Swedes (I hope I am correct with that term). Gather members and followers and try to make the network lively and engaging. When you are already established then that is the time to promote your e-book there.
