    Low priced SEO services VS. Expensive ones - We all know the truth. Or don't we?

    You will get what you pay for.. - That's a common answer for anything related to "cheap" services. Right?

    So, because of that, I thought I'd ask you this question. First of all, it seems pretty fair, as this is the Community Discussion on SEOClerks, and SEOClerks is the largest SEO marketplace on the planet.

    That being said, what I wonder is this..

    A person selling a $1-$10 link building service.. Versus a $50-$500 service. - Which would most likely, bring me the best results?

    I bet most of us would say that the expensive service would bring the best results, and I bet that's the truth, in most cases.

    However, a cheap SEO services then.. Will it bring ANY kind of positive results at all? - Or do people provide these because it's "easy money" so to speak? (Mostly due to all the clients that literally purchase anything they see).

    This obviously depend on the exact services too. I know that. But in general.

    What do you think?

    I just don't buy the cheaper services because I always worry that the service may be low quality. I know that there must be a load of sellers here that provide excellent services for dirt cheap prices but I just don't want to spend time playing trial and error to find them.

    I love using great quality sellers that I know provide top notch services. I would rather spend my money there and know exactly what I am getting than risk maybe getting a Google penalty using low quality services. For me it is about more than the actual monetary cost.

    I really value my website and I would much rather play it safe.

    I totally see your point here Lynne and I definitely agree with you. Even though I can't say that I know too much about SEO at all, but it feels like a way better option to go with something for $50 or $100 instead of $1-$10 for instance. - It just feels weird to see $1 and $5 SEO services to me.

    However, I do understand that some sellers have to lower their prices due to competition, otherwise they wouldn't generate any sales at all.. Just like with any other service, but it's still weird to see SEO services for $1-$10 when I've seen people charging anything from $50 and $500..

    I can't help to wonder what those cheap services would bring.. Other than bad results.

    I would rather pay more and know I getting quality than pay a small amount and HOPE that I will get betting quality. I just can't afford to play around with my websites, I value them too much and it is my income. Imagine I order a $1 service and I get penalized? OMG no ways, not for me thanks!

    But like I said I am really sure there must be some real gems out there in the cheap services.

    It depends on the type of SEO service. If there was a service that basically did everything, posted my link on a niche related blogs/forums/websites that were high authority with a lot of traffic, reevaluated my keywords, suggest newer or better keywords, optimized my website to it's fullest extent then yes I would pay the higher prices for a more expensive SEO service. I do not condone those cheaper services that basically spam other websites that are already regarded as spammy and low quality. For instance, blog comment backlinking with software, there's only so many blogs on that software, so you can imagine all the spam on the website. . so ya, stick to higher priced, better quality services preferably a service that doesn't use unethical practices.

    I hear you Everett. Thank you for your input here.

    Regarding these blog comment backlinks you mentioned. These are done automatically, using a software. Right? - The seller doesn't do much more than just enter the given url and press "GO!"..

    After that, the software will do the "magic".. - But that also the thing I wonder about. - Would this actually benefit me anything at all? - Would something like this help me rank my website or whatever.. Or would I be better off with a $50+ SEO service instead? (And sure, the $50+ SEO service could be "bad" too, but I obviously mean that I would go with something good, worthy of the $50+).

    As a general rule of thumb it is natural to expect a better quality service and a more comprehensive one when the price is high. However I feel that this rule cannot be applied to seo services, for the simple reason that nobody can tell you that you are going to have your site ranked in a top position regardless of how much you end up paying for that service. I feel that results are very debatable in such a case.

    Low priced SEO does not mean low-quality service and high priced SEO is not always high quality. A relative new freelancer might change you a low price for SEO service and an experienced freelancer might ask for high price. Generally speaking, freelancer charges high price because they are experienced and know how to do it. A new freelancer might not be very familiar with all the techniques.

    Your analogy might be necessarily correct because I have paid someone some good amount of money but the person did a very thrashy job for me but hire another person and priced him very low because of the first experience I had and the work was perfectly done I been added more money to the person when I saw the excellent work he did.The best bet is not hiring the best over-priced person but the one that has knowledge of the service that one wants to be rendered.

    I think the quality of service depends on the person and not on the price. Just like in a job applicant, there are those who are so good in the interview that you think they are good but later turned out to be negligible in terms of quality of work. Maybe the best gauge is the past work or track record. But still, you really cannot tell until you experience the work of a hired hand. So maybe you can enter for a trial contract and make it longer if he is good and terminate the contract if he is not.
