    Offline Marketing.

    I have a pretty neat idea but, I would need to hire multiple people, from various countries, or at least from several states and whatever.. Because I'd need to spread this like a fire.

    That being said, I have a few people I can truly trust, and I know that they would do exactly what I wanted them to do. (Giving away flyers etc.)

    But, I don't know 50 people who would do this, and I would need to hire others to do it for me.. So, how would I actually be able to KNOW that they did exactly what I told them to do?

    I mean, let's say that I want them to give 50 flyers to random people on the street. They could just send me a photo when they give 1 flyer to their relative or whatever, and then just throw the flyers away and earn easy money.. Right?

    And I would probably not be able to require video-proof.. As that would involve both large video files to send, but it would also involve more effort for the people I hired, as they would have to record each step they take.

    How would you do something like this?
    Have you ever done this?

    I've never done anything like this but I wanted to. The problem with doing something like this is that you'll have either trust the people handing out the flyers or figure out some way of tracking who is actually working, which is difficult. Well, it's more of an impossible feat to track people sending out your letters because it probably breaks some kind of privacy law.

    One way I've thought of, that's fairly simple for most of us, is to set up a different website for each person who is handing out your flyers. These websites don't have to be crazy detailed or anything like that. You can actually set up splash pages or small 5 page websites for each person working with you. You only need 1 design for all of this since you can just upload the files on different hosting accounts and editing the logos, favicon, and any text referring to the domain where the files are. This way it's a "unique" website and you can monitor click throughs and conversions.

    You can take this one step further and have it set up as an affiliate website for offline marketers. You set it up and they hand out flyers for their new website. Each website is linked to your main website with affiliate links associated with the person handing out the flyers.     One of the main problems with this is that if you're paying for the flyers, you might have 1,000 people sign up and that means you have to make a set of flyers for 1,000 people. You would have a huge amount of work to do and I'm sure that only 50 out of the 1,000 would actually do the work. So pretty much you'd be burning time and money in the beginning because people wouldn't be doing the work, but you won't know right away. You could ask for a specific background and post some requirements in order to work with you so you can weed out the people who just want to make a few bucks handing out flyers.

    Thank you anwebservices, I appreciate your answer and I can totally see why this would be a rather good option.. Especially in terms of "extra marketing" so to speak, just like you mentioned. However, I have a feeling that people would want extra money for doing that though.. As they'll need to record everything they do and upload the video. So they'll basically do more work than "just give away some flyers on the street". So I guess they'll want payment for that too.

    I think when it comes to something like this (getting people to hand out or fly post flyers) it's best to go with an actual agency that employs people to do it for you. Agencies that actually vet their workers and only employ reliable workers with a proven track record. It costs a little more to go this route, but you have a little more peace of mind knowing that your flyers are actually handed out to people on the street or fly posted through peoples home and business doors rather than just dumping them all in the bin and then saying, yes I handed them all out lol

    Other than that, it might be good to only give this type of work to people you know and trust. People that wouldn't just dump them just to get paid and make a quick buck but people that wouldn't let you down and actually do what you paid them to do. But again, this can be quite costly too since you have to make it worth their while. When you consider they could be standing around for 6+ hours and the minimum wage is about $9 per hour? Well you'd have to make it so they were paid at least the minimum wage for those 6 hours they done handing out the flyers to people. For 6 hours at $9 per hour that would be around $54 so you could be paying that much per day, per person. If you have 5 people doing it for 6 hours every day. That would be $54 x 5 at $270 per day.

    For that reason, handing out flyers is and can be profitable work for those people that do it. Although not necessarily long lasting work unless they get work through an agency. But then the agency keeps a cut of what you pay them. Although some agencies pay them by how many they actually handed out. So they might give them say, 10,000 flyers to hand out in 7 days. But the only problem with this is the trust factor as there are a lot of people that just throw some away and hand in a few more and say the rest were handed out.

    It's a bit of minefield this flyer game tbh. There is a lot of trust involved and no real way of knowing if all of them were actually handed out. And that's one of the reasons that a lot of people don't employ people to do this kind of work for them.

    I was wondering that myself once about the people handing out flyers, about how the businesses monitor what is being done. So many of those people could just chuck the pamphlets in the bin and go home with their pay.

    I agree with Mike I think the best route would be to go with an agency, or perhaps find one person you trust and hire that person not to hand out the flyers themselves but to find a team and manage them to hand out the flyers. That might be a lot cheaper than finding an agency.

    This is going to be really tricky to get going but when there is a challenge there is always a way around it.

    Your niche has to be really adaptable to work in multiple countries you target audience also needs to be a very specific portion of that countries population. If the flyers are in English only you need to make sure they land to people that know English.

    I think this is a very tricky idea to implement, no to mention the fact that you can't be sure they'll actually give those flyers away to the right people! And making them take a photo for each flyer is just crazy...

    I know Cristian. That wouldn't work at all.. But it's literally "the best" thing I can come up with actually.. Even though I know it wouldn't work. - If I ever decide to hire someone to hand out flyers for me, I just have to make sure that they'll actually give them away, and not just toss them in the nearest trash can.

    But it seems almost "impossible" to be sure about this..

    My husband has a cousin who is a sales manager of a condominium. He has several people distributing flyers in different locations in the city. To be assured that his people are working the way he wanted, he has a spy called inspector who is anonymous to his sales people. He gets a report everyday detailing the behavior of his sales people who are tasked to distribute flyers to people in the streets. As per their study, people with that kind of job will not do it properly if not monitored.
