I've been going through a bunch of websites to try and find a new computer for my every day online marketing needs, but I haven't been impressed with anything under $1,000 
Right now I'm using a 17" laptop with an i7 processor because my desktop decided to fry itself which basically made it a very large paper weight. I was able to save a few things out of it, but I get to use it's demise as an excuse to upgrade lmao
I'm not opposed to laptops for my every day work because I can be very mobile with them and I can bring my work with me, in digital form, if I have to go meet with a client. Meeting clients doesn't happen very often because I work with people from all over the world and they're usually not within driving distance lol.
I was looking at a beefed up gaming laptop that was around $1,000 and was pretty impressive. But do I want to get it or not?

Now as a lot of you know, I'm known for doing online marketing, but what you may not know is that I'm pretty horrible with hardware lmao Do you think the above laptop is good or should I keep shopping around for something else?
The laptop above is definitely better than the one I have, but I don't really know if I should drop $1,000 on a laptop. I guess it would be a work expense, but since I'm the CEO it still comes out of my pocket sort of lol.

If you're talking about and looking into buying a laptop like that with that spec from Newegg, then you're going to be paying more than the laptop is actually worth. Newegg are not known as the cheapest place to buy from and are only resellers. I would personally hold out until the new year if you can because prices will be cheaper then. I would expect this very laptop to fall by at least a couple hundred bux.
If you just can't wait until then, and you're in the market for a new work laptop, check out sites like PCAdvisor and TechRadar as they often find good spec laptops at the cheapest prices and do all that "window shopping" for you.
Hope this helps Raz! Wow 16GB of RAM. That's some military grade spec! That is more of a gaming laptop than anything else. But gaming laptops do have good specs so are good at using for other things too like video production and editing and other memory intensive applications. But if you're only going to be using it for clients work / freelance work and the like, and not actually playing games or using any other memory sucking apps, that's probably more spec than you need. Although it can't help to "future proof" your laptop as much as possible because let's face it, at the rate that computing technology increases, in a couple years time, laptops may come with 16 or 32GB of RAM as standard!
