Plagiarism Checkers SAVES your content?

I just found an article: The Truth about Online Plagiarism Detection Tools and Software

And something crossed my mind.. If and when you're using these plagiarism checkers, are you ever afraid of them saving your content?

I mean, these free tools could potentially save your content and use it themselves.. Right?

Sure, you won't check for plagiarism for an article you just wrote, but if you're using other articles and reword them, and make them unique and all that. Basically just use other articles for some inspiration and whatever, then you might use such a tool to check for plagiarism.. Or am I wrong?

However, what I thought of was exactly that. Just imagine that you write an article and you've used other articles as inspiration etc. You check your content for plagiarism and BAM! - The site you used publish that content themselves.

Is that even possible?

Well, this is somewhat true however, a lot of the times the websites that do save your content do not publish said content in their websites they sell it to another company. Read the fine print in the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, etc, usually they do not tell you if they are saving content but you can be assured that 9 times out of 10 they most likely are. If you are in doubt that a website may save your content, just automatically assume they are.

Some companies will pay for content, so thus the need to save the content from plagiarism checkers. Basically rule of thumb for any online tool or checker, it's not entirely free, the website is somehow making something from you whether it be in the form of advertising, stealing your content, or data mining your every search term query..

Wow, I wasn't aware of that. Thank you very much Everett, I appreciate it!

You said that these websites are selling the content, or that they could be selling it. How would that work? - I mean, if you've checked something you write, then you'll probably publish your content online, right? - And if the website you checked your content on are selling it.. What would these people do with YOUR content? - Publish it as their own or use it in other ways?

How does that work out in terms of copyright etc? - Aren't you the original owner of the content you write, and how would that turn out if anyone used your content?

Sorry for all the questions. I find this a bit strange and interesting Plagiarism Checkers SAVES your content?

I think that your content (article) would need to be copyrighted before you could even do anything about it anyway. So even if they did save and then sell your article to someone else through some other means, and you then found that article on another site or blog or something. All you could really do is send a DMCA takedown notice for unauthorized use of your works. But you would still need to copyright that article (word for word) before you could legally enforce that. That's why you should use Blockai to create a permanent digital signature for your article before you check it using some plagiarism checker. However, I have never heard of a plagiarism checker site copying, saving and selling someone else's content else where. I think it's more than possible that they could do that. But I think they wouldn't. Why do I think that? Because most people that use plagiarism checker sites are checking whether an article they copied and spun from else where will pass the plagiarism check. Most people who write an article from scratch don't bother to run it through a plagiarism checker site as they already know that it's 100% unique. Although I get that there would be people that would still run it through them just to check. But the way those plagiarism checker tools work is a bit questionable as well anyway. And sometimes when writing an article (even when writing it from scratch) there are always going to be strings of words within that article that can be found elsewhere online if you look hard enough. That doesn't mean you copied it. But the plagiarism checker site wont know that and will just say, oh this article is only 70% unique and some words within it were found else where. Well obviously! Lol

Oh wow Andre. I never considered that!

I regularly use a free plagiarism checker to check all guest posts that are submitted before I approve them to be published on my website.

Like a few other members have said I never use a plagiarism checker for my own content because I write it completely from scratch so it would be a little silly to run it through a plagiarism checker.

Even though they are possibly saving the content I run through the plagiarism checker I really doubt that they would go and sell it. For one if they did that to me I would write one of the stinkiest reviews and let everyone know what they did, I would add in a Youtube video and I would make sure that as many people as possible knows about it.

And I believe a lot of people would do that too. That would be the fastest way to trash your online reputation wouldn't it? Surely if they wanted to sell content it would be easier to hire their own content writer to writeunique articles and sell those instead?
