Some reports are inquiring that Apple may move the entire production of iPhones to the United States and apparently the already contacted US manufacturers like Pegatron and Foxconn to make this a reality.
This may come as a result of Donald Trump being the president-elect who has previously stated that Apple should move its manufacturing process in the US.
Of course, a US production of iPhones will mean bigger prices on the finished products. Currently, iPhone components are made all over the world, but a huge part of them are made in Asia: South Korea, Japan, and China being their biggest manufacturers, with China having the majority, therefore why the iPhone is labeled "Made In China".
What do you think? Is this part of Trump's plan to get more jobs back to the US? Would Apple fans mind paying more for their products made in the US?
Will the quality of the iPhones increase just because the manufacturing and assembly will be done in the US?
Well the one thing I know about Chinese tech is that although it's cheaper to get it produced there, the Chinese are very good at making very very small components. Why is that? Well several reasons, they have a great technological infrastructure in place. But also, and this might seem like I'm being funny, but they also have very small fingers compared to Americans and other western countries. But it's because they have small fingers, they are able to do fiddly things that other countries can't really do as well. Well that's what my old man always used to tell me anyway LOL :D
But yes, this does sound like a Trump thing, and I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone presidential to suggest it. I don't recall ever hearing about Obama doing anything like this but I don't really follow US politics that much being from England and all. But I also think that Apple fans already pay a lot of Apple gear anyway so they probably wouldn't care that much. It might effect some of their sales though as these days there are a lot of much better "Apple alternative" smartphones on the market so if Apple wants to keep it's sales and profits up, it really shouldn't put its prices up too much.
As for if the quality will increase because they are made and assembled in the US. I don't think we will ever really notice and be able to tell the difference if any at all. After a while, there is only so much you can change as and when new technologies become available.
Only time will tell. :)

I agree, maybe Apple fans won't mind an increased price, after all the vast majority of iPhone buyers are people in the United States and the ones that are outside the US will probably gonna appreciate the fact that their new gadget says "Made in California" or something like that, another reason to brag over the type of smartphones they are using.
Now that I think about it this may have an actual economic impact as the label "Made in China" is greatly frowned upon by many people outside China. Nice reply Mike.
