    Forums are still a good way to advertise

    Whenever I select a forum to join I first take a look at how many guest watchers are reading the forum. Believe me that is the real prospect you can have from that forum. After that I start posting threads or replying threads particularly on those topics which are related to my forum signature links.

    You should treat your forum threads or replies to others' threads as the opportunity to educate and promote the signature link to your readers such as the readers read your threads or replies and being impressed they want more from you and finally click on your signature link.

    It is not a matter of a day, It needs regular participation and providing good quality info.

    Just some thoughts I had on forum advertising and marketing. Tell me yours.

    Hello seocenter3,
    This is certainly some good suggestions you've shared here and I've actually covered a little bit of this in other topics I've shared on WordClerks. "Brand Building & how I attract new eyeballs to my clients businesses" is the first part out of 4 different parts I've shared about it. My main business is in fact brand building and I mainly use Forums to market and build my clients reputation, brand and trustworthiness.

    Forums are obviously still a great source and very useful as long as you follow their rules and guidelines. However, forums are at the same time dying and other social media platforms are slowly but steadily taking over. Thanks for sharing!

    I've been wanting to get into marketing on forums but I haven't had the time yet! I do agree with you that if you join a forum you will need to spend time giving some quality responses and adding value before you are able to gain much trust from the forum!

    I guess the same goes for any website, whether it be a social network, your own website or a forum. The more value you add, the more people will want to follow you and to see your website and what you do.

    Yeah of course posting on forums it's a very effective method when it comes to advertising, the more you post there the more visibility you'll get but it really depends on the quality of your posts there. I'm not active in forums as I know that posting on it can take a lot from my time which unfortunately I don't have it. However, I'm fully dedicated to SEOClerks and I don't think that I need a forum to advertise myself since we have an amazing community here.

    When joining a new forum having in mind promoting my signature link I usually look for forms with a lot of indexed topics, that means its already established for some time now and can drive a good amount of organic traffic.

    I don't want it to be very popular and active, because very active communities usually frown upon signature links from new users but I don't want it to be dead and buried either.
    I also look at the authority level it gets as well as the backlinks profile of the forum so I'll know how much SEO juice I will earn from placing my link there.

    I think forums are still a great place to advertise, like you pointed out, and one good thing about most forums, especially those that are consistent, is that they have got a large number of members that means that if you start advertising, whether directly or indirectly in those places, it is going to come out good for most of the members might want to check you out.

    If the forum is dynamic with more than a hundred active members, think of how many traffic you can get provided they click on your link. And to attract them, make creative post with substance to gain a good reputation. A forum can be likened to a classroom where your classmates can hear your answers to recitation. So if they see you as intelligent then that’s the sign for them to look up who you really are.
