I want to know How to protect my webcam from being hacked ?

Yeah I agree, although I think that depends on the camera type, for example if indicator light is connected directly to the power source I don't think it's possible to deactivate it , if indicator light can be turned off/on through camera software then yes it's possible. However, I trust only on tape. :D

I don't think hackers accessing the webcam is not much of a concern, you should probably protect your bank details more than the webcam..

Oh man yeah I just read that that's deranged. In the end it says she now goes around visiting different schools educating and making other kids aware of the dangers which is something good that will come out of it hopefully. I think the schools should do more to make kids more aware of the dangers of the Internet today. I haven't been to school in many years so I don't know if they do, I would imagine that they do since stories like this have been popping up here and there since the Internet has been around and the Internet is so integrated into our daily lives now. This should be a lesson included at some point along with other online safety tips today. I just hope that it doesn't give some kids "ideas" as it can often do. Sort of how when you tell a child not to do something, it can make it seem somewhat more appealing to naive minds!
If ever there was a need for personal AI assistance not just on the level of being able to answer your questions like what the weather is going to be like tomorrow but actually able to see this happening and tell you about it. I think that something like that will come about because of things like this one day in the not too far future. Hope so because that could be cool and could things like this from happening. It's only a matter of time! :)

Just get a little ball of it and cover up your cam hole with it. Either that a bit of paper stuck on using sellotape. Of course, that doesn't stop your cam from being hacked in the first place, but in the event that it is, it renders it completely useless! It's kind of last resort for the really paranoid and I've had my webcam covered by blue tack for years. Fortunately, I've never had my webcam hacked or my PC for that matter but should that happen, all they'll be able to see is blackness upon blackness! Are you sure you want to delete this post?

4.The most effective way to stay safe, just unplug it or put some tape on it.
