I am really getting frustrated with this situation. Basically my laptop decides not to remain connected to the internet, and I have to restart it every time in order to get back online. I tried settings, turning off wifi and all for nothing. The connection is available, but it just does not connect to it unless I restart it. I thought it was something wrong with the modem, but then I realized that my phone and tablet remain connected without any problem. So it must be something wrong with my laptop! I cannot stand the fact that it is happening daily, sometimes even more than once! Any ideas what it could be or what I might do please? Thanks!

Have you done any updates recently that you know of before this started happening? Or do you have that on silent update in the background? I ask because sometimes M$ release an update which can screw with your network adaptors configuration settings. That's happened to me many times in the past. In fact, these days, I never just let them blindly download and install updates for me, I want to see what it is they want to install on my machine first before they do so I choose to manually select which updates to download/install. Of course, I always install the needed system updates. But sometimes I'll come across something that isn't a required update and doesn't really serve any purpose other than to do something I don't really or never even do anyway. I think I have about 70 "optional updates" pending they want to install on my PC that I don't have any need for and they wont do anything for me other than take up more space on my HDD and use up more precious processes.
Further more, Pro has hit the nail on the head. It could be a faulty network adaptor driver, or your current one has become incompatible or doesn't work well with the latest updates your machine has had. Always check your router or modems website for updates for the latest modem/router firmware and download and install it if possible as these will mostly be set to work with the latest Windows updates.
If it's still happening, it could just be some corrupted system files causing it. This happens from time to time with Windows. It's not rather unlike a car where some wiring corrodes or some small part in the engine malfunctions causing problems with the alternator or something else and you need to do a service. If all else fails, if you do have the latest firmware and updates, a reformat might be in order. Usually I find a fresh format and reinstall of Windows resolves most issues.

First, make sure to do a full reset of your modem, it's a small hole that you need to push it until the lights goes off, then wait some minutes and see if the connection will stay stable.
Second, check if your wifi/ethernet drivers are working correctly, to do that go to my computer, right click on it and go to manage, then click to "Device Manager" and then go to "Networks Adapters" , if you see a yellow triangle there probably it's a driver problem, simply right click on yellow triangle and update it.
The last step, if your connection is still being disconnected after resetting modem and checking drivers probably your system is infected with a virus, so I'd recommend to scan it.
