    2. Knowing if everything matches your expectations.
    There are many reasons that can help your decision in joining a forum but, personally, I had two main reasons for joining a forum:

    • to increase the reputation of my account. After a certain time spent and some amount of replies you will have the privilege to post links within the message.
    • I am allowed to post an infinite amount of posts, therefore I can do as much money as I want.

    As a bonus, after a while, we could add someone's link in the signature and on the profile which means that we could get something extra. Sometimes, a signature spot of an account with authority was more valuable than 5000 posted messages.

    3. A classic mistake of post being deleted is the wrong use of words.

    Some Administrators or Moderators will accept only posts that are written grammatically correct and match the thread where you reply. Posts as "Hi there" or "Thanks for this" are welcomed only one time and only on the "Introduction" category. Don't over push this kind of posts because they will be deleted on sight without notice and most of the time, you will get some kind of warning.

    Most of the guys that hired me told me that I should focus my posts on certain category and forget about General and Miscellaneous category. Some of them, they were paying different prices by categories. Be aware of the Employer's requests because he is the guy that pays.

    By doing so you are showing that you are flexible and you understand the need of good and quality of their forums. It's not a hard thing to do, just need to make a bit of research and documentation. It will be a good sign that you are worth your money and you will get bigger orders in the future.

    Hi RaduV yes I know what you mean about the "hi there" and "thanks for this discussion" types of posts. This ties in very closely with the discussion that we had recently about commenting on blogs.

    Adding a valuable comment that adds value is essential otherwise it will be deleted. I can't see any comments like that on my website being useful in any way. I delete all of them immediately.

    These kind of posts " hi there" and " thanks for this discussion" are a major signal for every moderators. Posting this and continuing in this way in a forum will draw attention and in the end will result in having your account suspended or banned.

    It's not a big deal when you just made your account and you have only 10 posts but when you have couple of hundreds it's quite pity to lose it for this.

    There are situations where this posts are required but if you compensate with other that are really well written then you are on the safe side.

    Yes, most forums I've written on had a particular niche. Talking about your dog and cat in a "furniture type forum" (yes I had those) used to not go so well with the owners, because they wanted niche based content, not some general stuff they could create themselves.

    I also learn a lot posting on multiple niches, I would have to do some kind of small research for every topic I created and in the process, a lot of that information stuck with me. Guess I've earned both money and some free knowledge.

    That was pity, writing content that doesn't belong in a particular niche will draw attention and like you said, no forum administrator will be happy with. Even if you try to mask it properly content about cats in a fish forum is a bummer.

    Yeah, I've got most of my knowledge about SEO, Internet Marketing while I was doing forum posting. One forum led to another and another and so on. Forums are really great places to learn because you actually learn from human situations. I've use them rather for troubleshooting my computer issues.

    It’s good to know if your work is par with your expectation. That is one way of getting satisfaction. For example, you expect to earn a high rating when you improve the quality and length of your posts. You may be disappointed when the high rating does not materialize but if it does then you surely would be happy. That’s the drawback of expectation – disappointment when it doesn’t happen so I guess you also have to learn how to deal with failed expectations.
