Cross-sharing is very important. if you share your facebook page on twitter, your twitter followers will certainly follow your facebook pages. If you share your twitter link on facebook, your facebook friends and followers will also be following you on twitter. When you cross-share, what you are doing is promoting your one account on another account. This will help you gain exposure.

Yeah, cross sharing is a good marketing technique because you are using your 2 accounts on both instances. However, you have to be creative in promoting your Facebook fan page on Twitter and vice versa because some users get easily annoyed by frequent posting of promotion even if both accounts are yours. You can still be considered spamming if your marketing post is very frequent. Being creative means the reader learns something new on your marketing spiel.

Frequent posting means you are spamming, NO one likes spammers. Therefore, if you do self promotion frequently your followers will be pissed off and you might end up losing them. You have to take a lot of care while doing self promotion. Your promotion should avoid using common terms like "like us" follow us" Instead you should write a teaser and tell what your account is about.
