Increase the conversion rates of your online forms.

Everyone can have a form on their website, but if it's not regulated, monitored and optimized then it will just lose you sales in the long run. The amount of sales it will lose you is hard to determine, but it will.

Your forms are the main thing you can use to close a sale, so you have to pay attention to it like it's the thing making you money. If you don't have the right forms that are configured properly then people will just leave your website for your competitor. And that hurts a lot.

Brand your form the right way
You can use your form in many ways from embedding it to just having a stand alone on your website, that's up to you. But if you're branding it wront, you could be losing a good amount of money. If you're using a third party form builder you can usually use a customization section to make your forms have different fonts and colors. You'll need to configure these sections to match your website so that people don't feel like they have left. If the customer feels like something is fishy they will usually leave your website.

Have a great headline
A good book title, article headline or even an emails title which is written well will end in more sales. You need to make sure the title of the form grabs the attention of the user and is giving them just enough information to get them asking questions that only you can answer. And answering their questions will require them to fill out your form You can also add a question as your headline and you will want their answer to be "Yes". this will increase your conversions as well.

The placement of you forms
Your form needs to be shown right away when someone lands on your page. If they have to search for it, they probably will become blind to it. It's a pretty basic thing to get the form in front of people, but you'd be surprised how many people don't do this. You'll want the form to be above the fold. This means that you want your forms to be seen as soon as someone gets to your website and they don't have to scroll at all to fill it out. This will increase your conversions a good amount and make you a happier person.

Clear call to actions
If you have clear call to actions on your form you will notice a decent amount of fill outs compared to call to actions that don't stand out. Having a "Buy Now" button, or something similar, that stands out at the bottom of the form will show people that they have to click through to proceed. I know it's pretty obvious that you need to hit enter or a "Buy Now" or "Continue" button, but not everyone does lol.

I'm finding that forums still have a great ranking weight on non-dot-com google versions. I know you may think the algorithm is the same for all countries but this is not the case. Google gets updated slower for some country versions.

Anyway, forums still have potential (not dead yet) but I'm finding Google picks only topics where discussions are elemental from the user's perspective. In the old days, forums would rank pretty much for anything, now in the era of instant everything and social networks things had changed a lot!

So finding the right topic to expand on your forum is essential, make it very easy for people that come from organic to participate at discussions, this will create free content and your ranks will improve even further.

Thanks Razzy, I don't have anything to add but I do have a question or two.

I don't really make use of forms much on my website, except for my baby competition where I want moms to enter their kids. I have found it almost impossible to find a form that is user friendly and that works properly.

I was using a form plugin a while back, I can't remember what it was but moms were complaining that they couldn't send in entries. Then I decided to try using formpl.us and that was nice because it uploads all the baby pics into a folder in Google Drive and it enters all the information into a spreadsheet in Google Drive too so it was a really nice way to stay organized.

However I started using that this month and once again moms are complaining they can't enter using the form. The result is that I have hardly any entries which sucks.

Obviously before I get around to optimizing my forms for conversions I kinda need to find one that works! What would you suggest?

Having that call to action at the bottom of a sales online form is a great way to go about selling things since that is going to work on the mind of the visitors to the site to click it to pay for the products or services without shifting it to another time.

I have seen ordinary forms and creatively done forms although at the outset they look the same. But when it comes to call to action, what I remember is the spam email that I received with a click-bait that was very tempting. The button said “click to verify your account” and the warning below said that failure to verify will have the account suspended and needs clearance to be used again. That’s a real call to action.
