10 Weird and Whacky Ways to Make Money: Get Paid to Sleep

This one is for all the sleepy heads in the world! If sleeping is something you love doing. Then why not get paid to sleep? But how and where can you get paid to sleep? Who on earth would pay you to sleep? Quite a lot of places actually! 10 Weird and Whacky Ways to Make Money: Get Paid to Sleep
10 Weird and Whacky Ways to Make Money: Get Paid to Sleep
For starters, bed and mattress manufactures always need people to test their beds and mattresses before they are finally released to the general public. You can find employment as a professional bed tester for these manufacturers. Often you will be hooked up to heart and pulse and dream monitoring machines they give you before you go to sleep at night so they can tell just how comfortable you was or whether a certain bed caused more brain activity (the sign of dreaming) than others.

It's not just beds but quilts and duvets too. You can find work as a professional Duvet Tester like this lucky gal from London. Jo Unsworth gets paid by John Lewis to test out all their duvets and quilts from their bedding department full time! All her friends and family think that she has the best job in the world and Joe just thinks they're probably right according to an interview held by the Daily Mail about her duvet testing job. I think it did help her case that she already had a degree in textile management and background in branding and retail but power to Jo!
10 Weird and Whacky Ways to Make Money: Get Paid to Sleep
It's not that hard to find bed, mattress and duvet tester jobs where you can make money by sleeping with these items and then telling them about your experience with them. You can search on job sites for them or even contact your bed and mattress manufactures in your country/region and send them your CV and that you love a good nights sleep or any skills or previous bed testing experience you have for other places would probably help if that is what they do.

The LinkedIn bed testers could be contacted and asked if they would share where they get hired from. Or you can pitch them as a bed manufacturer yourself and ask them what experience they have and what other places they work/worked for. This would give you some insider tips and insight into what it involves and where to apply if this is something you might actually be serious about and want to do to make money with.

Sleep researchers and doctors also hire professional sleepers so they can study them while sleeping and learn about sleep induced problems like apnea etc. The catch is you'll probably have to stay in their surgery for a while and be hooked up to heart machines and brain monitoring machines and the like. That shouldn't really effect your sleep too much and you'll probably wake up with a bad hair day due to all the stuff they used to stick the electrodes to your head and that but hey, when was the last time you got paid just to go to sleep?

To find work as a sleep researcher, Google search for "sleep study research work" and the like. Including the job sites as well which occasionally or often have them.

And hotels also need people to test their rooms and the beds in them too. Instead of you paying the hotel to stay in their hotel, they pay you to stay instead. To sleep more to the point. A couple years ago, Hotel Finn in Helsinki went viral when they advertised that they was looking for a professional sleeper to test 35 different hotel rooms and beds and write and blog about the quality of sleep they got in each room. They got over 600 applications by people from all around the world.

Some sleep studies actually pay a lot of money but that is because it does often involve being hooked up to machines and poked and prodded and monitored closely while you are sleeping. Some of them may even involve not sleeping. As in, staying awake and sleep deprivation to monitor how deep you sleep when you do. Or even waking you up quickly and suddenly using a loud sound of some kind!

But if you can handle all this, the longer you participate in their sleep studies, the more you'll likely earn. In one example, the Harvard Division of Sleep Medicine pays $10,125 for a 37 day study. You can find other such studies you may be able to apply for depending on your age group or other demographics.
10 Weird and Whacky Ways to Make Money: Get Paid to Sleep

So yeah, it's official, you can make money by sleeping. It's now how I like to make money sleeping. I like to wake up and see I've had new sales in the night and that's what I call the best way to get paid to sleep! But if you love sleeping and think you have the skills and experience to apply for a professional bed or duvet tester, or even take part in some sleeping trials. Then it could be a truly rewarding vocation that pays! 10 Weird and Whacky Ways to Make Money: Get Paid to Sleep

How about you? Have you ever got paid to sleep and test beds and bedding?

Is this something you'd like to do and would given the opportunity?

Ohhhhhhhh man! I wish I could get paid to sleep. Not all day though, maybe 12 out of my 24 hours lol 10 Weird and Whacky Ways to Make Money: Get Paid to Sleep I would be able to get paid while I sleep and then I could make money online during my regular work day 10 Weird and Whacky Ways to Make Money: Get Paid to Sleep If I were only get paid for 6 hours of sleep I'd bee cool with that as well since that's how much I normally get and then get to the daily grind.

No ways, I am so going to have to contact all these places and see if I can get paid to sleep. I can promise you something though I wont be doing it for the money but for they very valid reason I would have that I have to sleep... being a mom to a two year old and I four year old I could just imagine being able to go sleep somewhere else. I could tell my hubby, sorry love, I have to go to work. I have to sleep in this lovely hotel tonight.. oh and good luck. Hahahaa.

I think the really nice thing about this job is you could have a "night job" and a day job right?

This sounds like the dream job for anyone, who would not love to sleep and get paid in the same time lol, even though I don't think that I can do it, because I am always awake like an night owl after drinking some cups of coffee. Well exactly after some gallons of coffee. 10 Weird and Whacky Ways to Make Money: Get Paid to Sleep

I am a night person, and I don't prefer to sleep more than 4 or 5 hours. I was wondering if they offer part time job? 10 Weird and Whacky Ways to Make Money: Get Paid to Sleep

Oh no, I would be able to drink gallons of coffee and still sleep! I have read a lot of articles now on what is referred to as sleep debt and I am owed a lot of sleep. I could do this job, in fact I don't even have to be paid... as long as I have a good excuse to sleep a full night!

How I wish that I could have got such a job. I actually sleep only for 5-6 hours everyday and this is mostly due to my job. It would have been wonderful to have an opportunity to catch up all those sleep that I have missed. I think that many people would love to do such a job. However in the long run this job will become boring as there will be no challenges.

It is quite cool to be paid for sleeping. I mean I am that type of person that enjoys sleeping and getting paid to do so is a great way to go about. Seriously, I will be researching more on how this works.

This one is really funny but during my high school days, there was this tv commercial for a brand of mattress. It showed a display center where a man was asleep on one of the beds. Complete with pajamas, the man was actually asleep, according to the blurb of the commercial. And you know what, I had read the interview of that guy and he admitted that he worked on graveyard shift and goes to the display center in the daytime just to sleep. Isn’t that a great kind of job?

An unusual way to make money, but very cool. It seems to me that you need to give a percentage of another place to sleep. Even the craziest sleep lovers can keep their eyes closed in the terrible rented rooms. This is why I trust https://planetofhotels.com/en/ in finding accommodation and hotels. It is hard for me to fall asleep, but not great options — I’m doing well.
