What would you do if a buyer acts this way?

I had a buyer who ordered a couple of articles. She was not sure how long a particular rewrite and proofreading project would come to, so after placing the order we made an agreement that she would pay more in case I write more. I ended up writing twice as much words, and she said she would order to make up for the difference, as well as order some other articles she needed. After several days I checked if she had logged in, and it seems that she did but the orders never came. I sent her a polite reminder, but no reply. I ended up not being paid for half of the work I did and I am so let down about this considering that we had made an agreement and she even said that she was really pleased with the job. What would you do?

Never make deals with buyers, especially that kind of deals! When you will deliver a lot more work in the hope that they will re-order to make up for it. Always deliver exactly what you are offering in the service description, maybe provide a small bonus to make the client happy so they will leave a positive review, but never deliver twice as much because you'll end up not being paid for it most of the times.

Thing is, she could at least leave a positive review!

Sometimes I get people ordering and saying things like "If you do a good job I will have many orders for you". So I do a good job (as I always do). I even go the extra mile and give them some bonus promotion work. But then you deliver the order, and the buyer doesn't even bother to leave a positive review let alone come back and order again. Despite me politely reminding them every day for the next 5 days while the order is sitting in limbo to ask them for their feedback. They just go mute on you and don't bother. That annoys me when people say this and do that don't hold true to their words. I know every trick in the book and I know why people say this so they can get a good job done for them. However I show no favoritism to anyone and treat everyone the same and do the same good job for everyone regardless. It just annoys me when people say something like that to you and then don't bother leaving a positive rating for the order. Even though you have worked fast and hard on it for them and done a really great job and gone the extra mile and have given them some nice bonus promotional extra work. It just kind of annoys me and makes me feel like I've been cheated and I can't see the point in that.

Moral of the story, treat everyone the same regardless to what they say. Regardless of promises and expectations.

After sending polite reminder, i guess there is not much you can do, but wait if she return and log in to Seoclerks again, which could happen. It depend, how she set her account up and if she receiving email alerts about your reminders. You may try to send reminder occasionally again and hope for the best. I don't see any other way out in your case

Yeah as anweb said, I think you'll need to wait for her response, try to send a few more messages because she will get notification in her email, and will read them in case she missed your first message. However, I think everything depends by her if she is checking new emails from SEOClerks.

I don't think there is much that you can do. My advice to you, provide the service that is stated in your service description with a 10% bonus. Nothing more, nothing less. Your buyer will be satisfied with your work and you will not have the feeling that you worked for half of the payment. Anyway never work on promises.

Oh no, that is awful EliteWriter. I am so sorry this happened to you

I have to agree with what everyone else has said about trust. Yes there are good people in the world, but never ever trust them with your money. I like to always believe in the good in people, but even though I believe they are good they must pay me upfront every time.

I'm not sure there is anything you can do more than you have already done except wait and hope this gets resolved properly. Don't you also get an opportunity to rate the buyer? Perhaps this is what you can do for now, give a very bad rating because I feel you are totally entitled to. She broke an agreement and that is just wrong.
