Anyone here heard of Candid? Hottest newest social media network around.

In the age of online privacy concerns it was only natural for a certain app and social network to be born, one that offers anonymity.

Just like duckduckgo is a great anonymous alternative to Google, Candid is quickly becoming the perfect alternative to social networks for people seeking anonymity.

I've installed this app last week and it's simply splendid. It's a combination of reddit, quora, 4chan and twitter all rolled up into one perfect social network where everybody can say pretty much anything as longs as the other users agree, it's kind of a self-moderating system, very elegant. The design is great, its fast, complex enough but yet simple to use.

Of course, I'm currently testing marketing opportunities, same as Reddit it has great potential for getting a website viral if you understand the community.

What about you, what do you think about a social network where everyone is anonymous?

Oh this sounds interesting Cristian, but how can one really stay completely anonymous on social networks? I mean you would want to connect with people but you don't really know who they are. And then when you share your content then surely people will find out who you are? Like if I am continuously sharing new content from my blogs yes I am "anonymous" but anyone with half a brain will be able to connect the dots right?

I am interested though, so I will go and check them out. Thanks for the heads up about this new social network Cristian. I had never even heard about it and I like to stay in the loop!

Nobody will find you unless you want to be found! You register with Facebook and a telephone number, once one of your friends joins the network you get notified, but you can choose if you want to content with him or not.

I always had this kind of idea for a social network, I just didn't put it to practice, I remember pitching the idea about 5 years ago, but nobody was interested in developing it.

Also, when you share and post content, it is always under an anonymous different name. Like CuriosFrog, IntrusivePanda or whatever. You always get a new name and it's surprisingly easy to keep track of everything.

I say just try it, give it 15 minutes and I guarantee you'll find some really interesting groups over there.

It will certainly be interesting to see what people are talking about when they have no risk of anyone knowing who they are!

I still haven't found the time to sign up but I will soon. I gather there are not many real profiles images or is there no option for a profile photo? LOL

I haven't heard about it, but I think it's just another social media like many others. Just visited their website, and on their about section is stated "users are fully anonymous" personally I don't agree with this, because nobody is anonymous on a social media where every piece of data is logged, and stored to a big database.

This reminded me tor with facebook, it was an option that allowed users to login "anonymously" on facebook through tor network. Can you imagine facebook supporting a service that help to protect your privacy lol ? That was a good tactic.

Apparently, their system is indeed anonymous, you can read more into it. Sure, maybe they are lying and they still keep some kind of data logs of everything but until now, they managed to convince me about it.

I really like the app, it's a great way to communicate with open-minded people, it's not just that you can say anything, it's about something else. When people don't have to worry about their ego, they actually have very different opinions, true opinions.

Anyways I've joined a couple of groups about marketing, digital services, politics, and economics. People post interesting stuff and have very developed conversations, you simply don't see this kind of community interaction on social networks like facebook where everybody knows that their being watched and followed by everyone so they have a "fear" about saying something stupid.

I'll be candid with you (pun intended). I was not aware of this app. I've just checked it out and installed it on my phone. I liked the sound of it at first, how you can ask questions completely anonymously without the fear of anyone finding out who you are or what you're asking. That means you can be completely free to ask anything you want, no matter how personal, privy or embarrassing. And everything you ask belongs to a group. So if it's a question about something personal, it might be posted in a personal matters group. If it's a question about a relationship or some relationship advice, it would be posted in a Personal or Relationships group etc etc. I've not had much time to check it out that much but I did see the feed had a lot of daft questions in it. Mostly young people asking silly things like what do I do if I like someone at school but too afraid to ask them out. But perhaps I need to join a few more groups in things I'm actually interested in like business, philosophy, marketing etc etc. I'll keep tapping away and checking it out as there might be a way to use it to my advantage. I see you can add links to posts as well which is quite cool. I wonder if that applies to affiliate links as well.

I have used reddit, I am very active on Twotter, I have heard about quora but never used it, I have never heard of 4chan. I have also never heard of Candid. Is this available as an app or also has a website? You say Candid is a combination of reddit, quora, 4chan and twitter. However, this does not properly explain what's to the social media look like. In the age of digital marketing, it is better to remain active on numerous platforms. I will have to take a look on this social media.

I still have to check on Duckduckgo and now comes Candid. Maybe I will have the time tomorrow to check on that because I am really looking for an alternative to Facebook. It’s not that I don’t want Facebook. I just want to be prepared just in case Facebook experiences an unexpected problem that it will be shut down. What will happen to the users? That’s the reason why we need an alternative social media network.
