    A lot of people will put up websites for the sole purpose of making money off of them even if they don't know the niche well. People do this because of the high paying advertisers who are already pushing millions through PPC platforms and Banner advertising platforms each month and they want their piece of the pie.

    Now I'm sure you've heard "Content is King" right? Well it's true, but what if you don't know much about the niche you're trying to profit from? You can hire writers to do the work for you every day, but that will get expensive in a short amount of time if you aren't limiting the amount of posts a writer can do each day. That's if you're paying them per post. If you're paying them per hour then you'll see less posts and more frustration because you're paying the same amount but with less content on your website.

    The best way to get a website started up, even if you don't know much about it, is to write the content yourself. You can go to a popular website or blog in your niche and copy then paste an article from their pages into notepad and then rewrite it so it's in your own words. Don't change a few words in each paragraph, actually go through each sentence and rewrite the content. This method doesn't work for the lazy or the people who are trying to cut corners by using spintax.

    Rewriting the copied article will make it your own and it will rank well in the search engines over time.     If you decide to hire a writer because you don't have much time like myself, make them do this method so that you can pay them less per post.     It can be hard to write about things you don't know much about. But you can get up to speed on things by researching them first. Simply checking out blogs, forums and videos on what it is you are wanting to write about. Soak in as much as you can about that subject and research and study it for a while. Eventually you'll become much more clued up in that subject before.

    One way to do that is to use Google Alerts. Create an alert for the keyword you want to know about and then it will send you an email of things it's found regarding that keyword. That way you can get to see what people are saying about it as and when they are which will also help you to gain more knowledge in that niche or particular subject.

    Of course if you don't want to do that. You can always pay someone to do that for you. That's what writers are paid for! But the other way around it is to just copy write something. And it's so simple and easy to do (mostly). Just find a good article on the subject you want to write about. Break it down and then rewrite each sentence or paragraph but in your own way, in your own words.

    You can even add more to it, expand on areas not covered in much detail in the original. Add your own take and make it a much better version of the original article that you are copy writing. I do / have done this many times on blogs I've started that I didn't know much about.

    I had a blog on 3D Printing once. When it first came out. When everyone thought it was going to be the answer to every ones problems. Need a spare part or catch for your cupboard? 3D print it! Need a new cog for your RC car? 3D print it! Need a new arm? 3D print it!

    I didn't really know much about 3D printing at first. But through Google Alerts, searching around and watching videos and things I soon got up to speed with it and learned about the different types and makes of 3D printers in the industry.

    I used to get Google Alerts of articles and then rewrite them in my own way and put them on my blog.

    That is a nice way to stay ahead with what is happening in your chosen niche Mike. Damn I am learning from you!

    I do have a few Google Alerts set up but I never thought of using them to find new content ideas and to make sure that my content stays up to date with what is happening.

    I use to have google alerts for certain things, but never did I think to use them as new ideas for content either. *applauds*

    However, most of my google alerts were there just to get updates about new websites in the niche I was in, and I didn't really find them at all useful. Perhaps I shall go back to them and see what I can come up with that will actually be more helpful? LOL

    Rewriting an article is a very good way of going about it. Personally I love rewriting, as it allows me to get some good ideas in cases when I am not well versed in certain subjects as nobody is an expert in everything. However even in those cases I do not stick to just that one article. I check out other articles so as to get a more profound understanding and I then mix and match ideas so as to come up with a truly original article, not merely a 'copy' with some synonyms here and there. That takes skill and time, and I do not think that the price should be halved mind you.

    Yes I have to agree with you here that when I use an article to base my article on I always search around for more information too.

    I like to make my content unique and completely my own so I don't like just rewriting what one article has said but instead include more information.

    Razzy I do think that the best way tro get great content is to write it yourself but I find it incredibly hard to write about something that I don't know much about, I also find it hard to find the vooma to get going with it. I would probably choose to hire a content writer if I could afford it.

    Yes it can work out very expensive but I do think it would be so much easier for me. I get what you are saying about completely rewriting an article but I almost find that harder to do than to research and write my own article.

    But yes I can see how this would be a viable option for some people.

    Even though I agree with everything you've said in this article. About this being a superb way to do things.. I have to say:
    This method doesn't work for the lazy or the people who are trying to cut corners by using spintax.

    That's actually not correct. At least not to me. I still see this as a method for "lazy" people, or perhaps for people who's "a bit smarter" than others. Doing things like this will automatically save them time by skipping research and so on. ;)

    We actually have clients who order rewrites for articles or even e-books so if you don't have time to do it, or if you don't feel competent enough to do it, you can also outsource article rewriting. I enjoy rewriting articles because not much research is required, just a rich vocabulary and a little bit of creativity. If it's something technical that I'm not familiar with, I'll read a little on the subject before rewriting but it's still a lot easier than other writing projects because I don't have to think about content. If it's for my blog though, I'll probably add some pizzas and really make it my own.

    It is definitely very difficult to write about topics which you are not well versed in. I always conduct lots of research before writing such topics. I try to read from different websites and this helps me to have a better idea about the topic. I do try to rephrase sentences I find on many websites quite often . Sometimes if I can't get enough information on the internet then I go to the nearest library to conduct further research. To be sure that you are successful when you are writing about a topic that you are not well versed in is conduct as much research as possible.

    I have many friends who are writers and most of them say that you only write when you feel like it. One veteran writer of movie scripts whose forte is drama wouldn't dare try writing a comedy script. He can, of course, but he said that it is silly to do that because that would be an ordeal for him while when he writes drama, it is a breeze and he enjoys every bit of it. The same with me, I choose the site that I go to. When the topic is alien to me, I exit and never return. I write not just for the money for also for the enjoyment and learning.

    As a writer, you should have the ability to write in various genres because you never know which genre will work for you and which genre wouldn't. I write on the various topic, from travel, health, alternative healing, to religion, philosophy, and culture. One of my high performing articles is hair care tips, another high performing article is of religion. I have even written a technical article for clients. Having said that there are topics that I cannot write. For example, I have a website on lingerie niche, I could not develop content for this website, therefore, I hired a writer.

    This is why I believe one should write mostly on niche or niches one is familiar with, even rewording one's article to get the same meaning and great understanding by the targeted audience.Well, For me I prefer writing an article my own way so that I could simplify for my audience or readers not copy and paste stuff, that I might be able to explain better still I pay a writer for it.

    Forget about your niche if you want to become a professional writer. If you concentrate only on your niche you will get fewer jobs, however, if you offer to write on any niche, you will earn more. In the process, you will also gain skills and experience. Recently, I wrote a book on container homes. Before I was hired to write this book, I had not heard of container homes. I did a lot of research and was able to write based on the research. The client liked my work and he hired me on his second project which is writing an ebook on candle making. Well, this is also unknown topic to me. When I delivered the first 2000 words, the client was impressed.
    The main point is your ability to do research. If you do research and read on the topic, you can write on any niches.
