    Does Google search console help you?

    I am using Google search console (Google webmasters tool) for some time. At first i thought i'm doing something wrong, then i tried to learn more about GWT and how to use it. But lately i really have to say that it provide very inaccurate details and stats, specially since i connected it with Google analytics, where i have one situation in analytics and different in GWT.
    Many important details don't even appear in GWT like website is completely unknown, while analytics show some movements. So i am really thinking to give up on losing my time to play around with GWT because i don't see some good benefits in it.

    I just would like to know how the rest of you feel about it and how happy you are with GWT or what is your experience?

    I've never found Google Search Console to be very accurate for years. It will often tell you things about where you're ranking for things that aren't true and accurate. For example it says I'm ranking #4 for "infographics SEO" but I'm not. I'm not even on the 1st page for that. And there are many other keywords that it says I'm ranking for but I'm not. But it's always been like that. Regardless to if I connect it to my Analytics or not. There was some news released just recently how Google's Keyword Planner Tool is now providing even less accurate details than before so perhaps this has something to do with the wrong reporting. I think there are some behind-the-scenes changes going on as we speak though so hopefully perhaps they will sort this out. Especially if enough people make a fuss about it.

    Oh wow, I haven't really spent much time on Google Search Console before now so I wouldn't know that it has always been inaccurate. That truly is disappointing, you would think Google would get it right, right?

    I heard long time ago that the Google Keyword Planner Tool sucks so I have never bothered with it anyway.

    Yeah, i see. Since it was recommended to use search console i was trying long enough to learn from that site how to improve things on my SERP, but it's useless for serious webmasters, so i guess i will forget about it for some time until they can offer some serious service...

    I honestly haven't spent too much time in Google Search Console. Yes I log in to get Google to crawl my content every time I publish new content and also when I have updated anything on my website but other than that I have not used it for much.

    I did post recently about how Google Analytics blocks a whole stack of the organic search keywords which is upsetting. For 92% of my organic searches it just says there is no information. Then I went into Google Search Console for that website and it showed me all the keywords.

    So I checked one of my other websites and suddenly it said I have NO backlinks and NO organic searches... I got a fright and then checked online. There have been some glitches this week so maybe just wait a bit and see what happens?

    I find Search Console very helpful! It notifies my about my website's health and lets me know if I have any 404 errors.

    The best features for new pages would be the submitting of a sitemap which helps a lot with indexing the new page in Google Search as well as Fetching a Google Bot, great tool to have when you want to re-index something or you made a change.

    Outside these features, I don't really used Search Console, maybe to check up hreflangs tags if I have them implemented and also to check the backlinks a website haves, but that's pretty much it.
