There is that phrase "started from the bottom" and with that being said its means to turn nothing into something . I have seen a few cases were people have literally built themselves up with no help or head starts, my question is could that be a really smart thing to do for someone who is new to freelance. I know before I got my self in to free lance work I was working at the same company for about 3 years and working free lance on the side basically working with training wheels making sure I was stable before taking everything into my own hands . I want to know for a beginner what are the best options, start off roughing it out or build yourself up with some kind of backing like a job or savings ?

By starting from nothing is not bad idea for free lancer. By developing your business you also develop your self and your capabilities and getting experienced, constantly learning new tactics to survive on international market and so many different things regarding freelancing. So i am new starter i would probably do it all the same again, starting form bottom :)

So never give up on your dreams! Well we all have to start from nothing pretty much. Unless you come from a rich family and you're parents are millionaires lol. But we all pretty much live on a shoe-string budget and living our lives hand-to-mouth. But that doesn't mean we can't make it. Plenty of people have started with nothing and worked there way up to being a millionaire. There was that guy that started with a paper clip. He sold that and bought a pen. Then he sold that and bought a box of pens. Then he sold them and went on to buy something else a little more valuable each time and would make a profit each time.
