Is wireless the way of the future ?

Technology has always been on the move , you could say technology is something that will exist changing with the seasons. At one point in life everything was connected to a wire phones weren't cordless none of that before remotes we had to get up and change the channel correct? Over time this has gotten better now we have wireless controllers etc so my question is how far will this wireless stuff go will it ever get to a point were even monitors are wireless or were computers don't have to be plugged in ( I mean desktops not laptops) etc. could it possibly go beyond where it's at right now ?

Oh yes I believe technology will be going completely wireless and I cant wait. I detest all these wires all over the place. Bring it on!

Personally I prefer more wired connections, because they are more safe and the internet speed is more stable than on wireless. But, as it seems nowadays everything is becoming wirelessly , which may have many advantages, but on the other side wifi security vulnerabilities concerns me.

I certainly hope that it is the way to the future. Wouldn't it be just great to avoid having wires everywhere! I think that wireless devices still have a relatively long way to go to be as good as wired ones, but in the future I believe that it is something that will be attained. After all technology has advanced at a radical speed over the past few years.

Yes wireless is definitely the future. But not just wireless peripherals but actual wireless electricity too. In fact that's already here. Most modern McDonalds restaurants have wireless phone chargers on the tables that can charge your phone for you by just putting it on it. And many more mobile manufacturers are creating wireless chargers as well now. Which means no wires! No dodgy chargers. No tangles and breaks. Just sit and go. And eventually, all our home appliances like TV, DVD players, games consoles etc etc etc will eventually be completely wireless and charge or even be powered wirelessly. I was reading something the other day about how they can send an electrical signal thousands of miles into space from earth. And the same technology can be applied to airplanes as well so they never need refueling and are powered as they fly from the airport where there is an electrical antenna or something like that!

The key here is convenience. Wireless is very convenient because you don't need a wire which can sometimes be annoying. For example, if you forget your cable, then you cannot use your device without a wireless function. The technological advancement is making everything more convenient and we never know what will be invented in the future that will make it even more convenient. 200 years ago, they won't even know what is a computer. However, now, it is something that everyone knows about and is used in our everyday lifes to make everything easier. Is wireless the future? I would say yes because it is extremely convenient but there may be something even better that replaces wireless connections or maybe wireless is the way to go.

I would prefer everything to be wireless! Everything! I hate wires with a vengeance! Hope every electronic device of the future will have wireless charging, or better yet you won't have to connect the to the electric grid.

Yes is my answer to the thread's title. With the wireless fidelity or wifi, it is a clear indication that we are going wireless. Maybe it is the advancement of technology on communications. When the cellphone came to town, many have predicted that it will be a hit and they were right. People jumped on the opportunity to experience a wireless phone. What came next is the wifi that afforded networks called LAN to do away with the cable and wires. The drone and other gadgets have wireless capability since they use remote control. Maybe in 5 years time, wireless will dominate all electronic items.
