Yep, sounds like "What Page of Search Am I On", usually it's so busy, and Google blocks the API access for a couple of minutes I believe. However, there are other websites to use, as mentioned above, or you could just use your tool. The tools that are mentioned are typically for those whom don't necessarily have those SEO tools, and just want to check their keyword rank. Most of them only search the first 10 pages though so if your website is listed past the 10 pages then it won't give a rank which is fairly okay as it drives you to do more to increase the rankings. :D

Thanks Everett, yeah well if your keyword is past page 10 it is lost anyway isn't it? Can you even do anything for a keyword that is past page 10?
Yes I don't need it anyway but I like to try new things like this, the fact it wouldn't work at that time just goes to show why I use a paid too l yes :)

The reason I like to use this one is because you can check on several keywords at the same time. However the only issue is with the domain name field. It cuts off long domains like deep URLs so it's not great for checking them but for a single domain or something its excellent.
And serplab.co.uk (https://www.serplab.co.uk/serp-check.php)
The reason I like SERPLAB SERP checker is because you can use a long URL and you can choose a region to check as well such globally Google.com or say Canada or something too. It's quite useful for that reason if you're doing SEO for a client not in the US etc.
There's also a good Rank Tracker Plugin for ScrapeBox. It's a premium plugin but it's very clever and comprehensive.
I've not actually used it though so kinda pointless saying lol but it's an alternative worth mentioning maybe.
