    How is online shopping performing in your country?

    I know that it's very common for USA people to buy many things online and get delivered to home address. From simple groceries to real estate etc... But i would like to know how online shopping is performing in other countries around the world??

    Perhaps in my country (Bosnia) it's still coming up, steady and slow. People start using some classified ads to sell, buy and trade, then use some courier services to get what they bought. However, buying groceries is not in trend at all. Clothes very little. And buying web services over internet is not so common, because everyone try to get someone they know or someone recommended by friend or cousin How is online shopping performing in your country?

    I can say same thing for my country (Albania), people here buy mostly from ebay and aliexpress, but most of them are not familliar with paypal, credit cards,and internet things, so in order to get their product they need to pay something extra to some local shops here that offer that service. And about web services, i think it is a very very small percentage of people who are doing it.However, this "situation" will change over the time...

    Romania here. It really started to take off in the last few years. We have a really big company, amazon style online store that pretty much sells anything at good prices, with home delivery and all that.
    This online store put big real-life electronic stores under the ground overnight so it has got quite popular. My wife also works for an online store, so yeah, I think things have shifted as much as anywhere in the West.

    On curious thing still remain though, people are VERY reluctant to pay everything in advance with a credit card. They don't yet trust paying for something that can't be hold in their hand at the moment of giving the money.

    Yeah, that's why i said these classifieds working here best, because there is express courier companies delivering and picking up payments on delivery. Paying by credit cards over the internet is still very rare here too.

    I am in South Africa and shopping online is really growing fast here now. Loads of people do their shopping online. I personally do a lot of online shopping. I even had an online baby store in my country so I can tell you that it is popular and constantly growing.

    I like to buy my son's nappies, wetwipes, dvds and lots of other things online. Clothing I still like to go to the shop and fit things on though. Groceries I like to choose my own things personally, I don't exactly like shopping for groceries but I want to make sure I get the best fruit etc that I can myself. I do have to admit though that I have been considering doing this shopping online recently since it is getting harder and harder to shop with my two kids, especially since my son is two years old.

    Good to hear that. So what is expenses of delivery there? Here it's quiet expensive in compare to some other big countries. Perhaps i can get 10 times cheaper something delivered from China or Hong Kong then to buy something 30 kilometers away from my home How is online shopping performing in your country? Kind of funny, but i guess it's also thing that slowing down progress of online shopping in many countries.

    Hi anwebservices thanks for your nice question. I completely agree with you. People who living in USA, they really getting awesome facilities for such type of market place like online shopping. I am live in BD. My country is developing country. So, it is look like everything going to develop. But, yet not developed. We are still facing many difficulties for online purchase from outside of my country like from global online market place. Last few years some ecommerce site develop our country but still system as ancient, You cannot pay anything by credit card or master card. So, I think still we are per away from first world countries like USA.

    Online shopping in the United States is doing pretty well.. Amazon has exceeded the profit margin from their last quarter and seems to be doing good. So I think overall the big corporations are doing well, the smaller online business in the ecommerce niche is apparently keeping afloat.

    So overall I would tend to think it's performing rather well. As for the small online businesses, I think they have too much competition from Amazon, eBay, and other quite popular websites. Would I start selling physical products online? Not entirely too sure. Not sure what to do or sell. So I think I'll stick with my script services, and freelancing.. lol

    I agree personally online shopping has changed my life it is so much more convenient then have to run Down to the store or the mall or anything like that I can shop from my living room lol I love it , I just don't think that it is good for small business trying to sell online there are some real power houses that have the online market pretty much locked down other then that as a buyer I think it's great as a business man I think I would be a little discouraged to try and get into the online market place

    Online shopping is getting a great response in my home country. Couple of years ago, it was difficult to perform online shopping because there was no proper payment method. With the introduction of various online payment methods, online shopping is getting momentum.
    I have set up an online store, and I am trying to cater the store to the local people.

    Well I am in the US and yes, people do buy many things online, and it is the reason many malls are dying here. Most people work and it is just easier for them to shop online then go to malls or stores and have to fight the traffic to buy things.

    Online shopping is doing good although I still have some apprehensions because of past experiences. But I am also adjusting with the times that it will be more of online shopping in the near future than offline shopping. And although I am not purchasing clothing items from online stores, I have a favorite store for pet accessories. There’s also another local online store that supplies party items like fancy hats and loot bags. Among my friends, they are also shifting allegiance to online shopping little by little.

    Since offline shopping is time consuming, many people opt for online shopping. When you buy items online, they tend to be cheaper than in offline stores because you do not have to maintain the front store, which cost money. That's what people are buying online more. Since online shopping is growing, I am trying to do selling business online. I have online stores and I am trying to establish my online stores.
