    Doing reverse guest posting with important influencers

    What does reverse guest posting mean? Well, it happens when you convince important influencers from your niche to actually post on your blog.

    It's a lot harder to achieve than normal guest posting when you are the one that offers to write content for another blog.
    Getting a high-level influencer to write content for you will result in a huge credibility spike for you and your website.
    The benefits are enormous but it's difficult method to pull off. You need a lot of PR work as well as having an active presence inside your own niche, you don't need to be popular but the influencers you are planning to approach need to at least heard of you.

    So make yourself visible, comment on their articles, promote them in your content are try to develop a small business relationship before you actually ask something like this.

    You know sometimes it's only a matter of reaching out to them, you might not even have to put in ground work first. Especially if you have a blog that is fairly large already and already has a fairly large reader base and you have a somewhat fairly large social following too. You have to remember that they are likely wanting to reach more people and build more awareness of their own business too just the same as you are so you could literally just contact them, tell them about yourself, about your blog and how long you've been going, what your traffic stats are like and the size of your social media profiles and pages and stuff and then just ask them if they would be interested to write for your blog. It would be good to put in the groundwork first by commenting on their blog posts, interacting on their social media posts etc so that they can recognize you as someone that is an authority in that niche and what not. But if you already have the traffic, reader base and established and growing social media channels. This could be enough to go on for them so simply telling them this and then asking them if they would be interested to write for your blog could be enough on its own merits for them to do so and want to do so too. Besides, what does it hurt to ask? What's the worst that could happen? They could say no. But they probably will think about it first and be willing to work something out with you. And at least then they will have you on record so to speak that you've asked about it and may consider it in the future. Then if they do say no, you could ask them again in a couple weeks or something and see if they've changed their mind. They might just say yes just to shut you up and keep you quite and from repeat asking them all the time. Sometimes this tactic can work on its own just for that reason. ;)

    Mike you do have a very good point there. I have a huge following on social media and often people think I am this like mega important person which is quite funny. I am just a mom sitting at home writing my blog, I am just a person like everyone else.

    So I guess what I am saying is that I look at important influencers in the industry and I find myself feeling quite self conscious and not good enough in comparison. I suppose this is probably what everyone experiences.

    Good point! Even if some other way smaller blogger will contact you for a guest post, would you do it?
    It depends on the niche and the person in my opinion. If an influencer gets tons of request every day, he may ignore of refuse such proposals from smaller weaker bloggers.

    If I had the time YES. Actually I have been contacted by a few companies for quotes on certain topics and I have done that with pleasure. It gained me a backlink and it was quick and easy to do.

    I know of a few people in my niche that are keen to get together for some Youtube interviews which I want to arrange soon.

    I might just get to that before the end of this year LOL

    I would love to have guest posts from important influencers on my websites! I am sure you are right though, it will certainly take a lot of effort to get them to be interested.

    I believe I am quite visible online, but I am not sure I have the time or the oomph right now to attract an influencer to guest post for me. Perhaps in the future I can make this a goal.

    One way of doing it, that would benefit your blog as well, is to write a blog post about the top 10 or even top 50? blogs and sites that you would like to write for your blog. List out each blog and a little about them and a link to them and put why you would want them to write for your blog such as the quality and detail of their content is amazing or something or you like the way they do business and how they use social media and stuff like that.

    Then obviously share this post on your own social media sites and find a way of letting them know about it. You could email them directly but it's a bit direct and a better approach is to let them find out about it through a 3rd party such as with a post on their FB page as one of their fans or even via a tweet and stuff like that. Even with a comment on one of their blog posts that way is guaranteed they will see it!

    And that way they would see it and be more willing to work with you if you've already mentioned that you would. That way you get some content on your blog and links to blogs in your niche so that would be a valuable post. Also you could even start a poll as well or something so your readers could vote on which one they prefer. It could go on to generate quite a lot of engagement if your post is good and one way of "buttering them up" first before you go in for the kill!     I have usually tried to contact the smaller bloggers first. And from there I have managed to increase my reach. This has helped to some extent. And as you can see if you are good at posting content regularly. You can do a lot of projects on guest blogging level. So it's definitely possible on that front. I think for the guest blogging to work one has to work on the output.

    That reverse posting is a good idea. However, I don’t think it will work for you if you have no connection to the influencer. It is far-fetched to think that a popular blogger will submit a blog to be posted on your blog. That is simply out of line. Maybe if you know the best friend of the influencer then it can be possible. From my honest opinion, there is a price to pay for the influencer to submit guest post to your blog.
