Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
A few years back I was fairly active on Google Plus and YouTube and when I recently looked at my page I was shocked to discover that I had 200,000 views, as well as 50 followers. I started to have a look at some of the old communities and groups I was in, and they all seem to be active still.
I heard that some Google services like hangouts were really helpful with ranking and I was wondering if the same was applicable for Google Plus? If it is then I think I will start using the site and the communities a lot more and I also think I could gain a fair bit of traffic if I do it right

Take a look at the top 10 communities for "Internet marketing" and they have almost 500,000 members/users collectively.
And there are literally hundreds of these communities. Some only have a small amount of users in them but some are really bit. And considering they are free to join and post to and you can post to them every day. They aren't something to be sniffed at. I try to post to them at least once a day in the morning and maybe several times a day posting different things and this can be better than posting to Facebook, Twitter or anywhere else in terms of the response you can get but it all depends. Just make it a habit to post to them at least once a day or a few times a week and keep this up consistently and you'll see it started to pay off in terms of traffic to the site you post and in terms of profile views and followers (circles) that you get. And the more circles you have (have you in their circles) the more authority your Google+ profile is seen as having. Sure Google+ hasn't taken off as well as other social networking sites, but they do still have a considerably large amount of users (in the millions) and they offer something unique that no other social networking site has. Plus as said it's Google at the end of the day so a link from it, even if a no follow link, is still well worth having and they're quite interesting to use too. Well the way I like to look at is you're building trust and authority to your site from a site that is very trusted and has a lot of authority. What better site is there to get a link from and what site is more trusted than Google itself? In fact, I always start with Google+ communities simply because there are so many of them and some of them have many thousands of members/users. Take SEO or Internet Marketing communities, there's quite a lot of them and the big ones have many thousands of members in them. So they're useful for posting your SEO/IM type stuff to for that reason as it's all related stuff that you're posting to them.
