What are some of the top tools for market research?

Nowadays there are various tools that can be used for market research purposes, most of which are actually available for free too! I wanted to list some of the best tools one can use for market research, while encouraging you to add any others and what you think about them if you used any of these:

Google Alerts
Google Fusion Tables
RapidMiner
Tableau
Synthesio

The above tools are considered to be some of the easiest to use and many said that they are very comprehensive, apart from improving their market research tasks considerably.

It depends on what exactly are you in need for. I have 11 categories of bookmarks, all with a ton of websites and tools.
My keyword folder has about 16 tools inside. I guess keywords can also be used as a marketing research, pretty much any tool out there that give you a piece of information can be considered a marketing research tool.

But overall my favorites are: ahrefs, alexa, google keyword planner, google trends, google analytics, seoquake, google search console, moz and gtmetrix.

Never heard of last three tools you mentioned, will check those out, thanks for sharing!

Hi Lynne. Basically Google Fusion Tables are helpful to carry out data analysis, through the use of graphs, charts, maps and timelines. Google Fusion can handle location data; it includes geographic information system functions which can analyze data. It is a good tool even for beginners that want to get used to the process of analyzing data a bit differently and more visually, especially if it is something that is deeply related with geographical location.

Thanks a lot for the info, I'm a newbie when it comes to online market research tools and I'm going to check out the list you've given. Market research is a great way to properly identify relevant data that can help my site progress.
