Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
So I've been using YouTube for years, but mainly more on the promotion side of it rather than uploading my own and other peoples videos before. I've upped other videos before no problem but today was the first time my video was flagged by YouTube for violating the community guidelines apparently. They didn't specifically state what it was but I think that it might have been that I had put too many links in the description area. I had my main site link at the top above the fold, then I had about 1000 words broken into about 4 different parts with a Goo.gl shortened link at the end of each section. So in total it had 5 links in the description. But a good lot of content too. I got a bit too zealous! 
You see this in other videos, and that includes videos of a commercial nature where they have many links in the description area. That includes their main site link and several shortened links as well as links to their social media pages, Twitter, FB and others.
So I can't really understand in full why the video was flagged and and subsequently removed. I can only assume that it was because it literally had too many links in it but again, there are many commercial videos on YouTube that have a lot of links in them.
I assume that was the reason. I did appeal the decision but I've just gone ahead and completely deleted the video now. I'll try to upload it to YT again on a later date and make sure to only include my one site link at the top and perhaps a social media link at the bottom as that doesn't seem to be too bad and is fair to do right? Well at least that's my thinking on the matter!
That said, I've hopefully learned a valuable lesson and it isn't something that will happen again. One thing that's stood out is their message that the video was probably designed to take people away from YouTube more than it was a video that would be entertaining to watch. So that's my next port of call and I'll try again with another video that is more entertaining but still have that affiliate marketing feel to it and not put too many links in it! Not as a new Channel anyway. That's something many YouTubers can live by!

Yeah right! Very true! If they're not making money from it, they certainly don't want you to make money from it. Most big social media sites make you pay in order to reach more people, it's corporate greed on the biggest level where they try to find ways to suck every last penny they can from you. And that sounds really awesome although I take it with a level of skepticism as well but we will have to see what that's all about and I look forward to hearing from you about it as and when it's public. What we need is something like that. Something along the lines of Steemit that actually rewards its users for their contributions. I hope one day that Facebook will end up like Myspace man how amazing would that be!? :D

shutting down accounts, shadowing accounts or even suspending accounts
OK they are but for simple users who are members just for fun, but for serious user who want to earn trough that fun, they are looking for their cut of your success, or else ...

That's very true as i could see from my previous experiences on social networks, so sometime i was asking my self "how social they are" :) OK they are but for simple users who are members just for fun, but for serious user who want to earn trough that fun, they are looking for their cut of your success, or else ...

Hi Lynne. Thanks a lot. No biggy though lesson learned. Was probably more my over usage of too many affiliate links in the description area so will try again and make sure I don't use as many! And that sounds fair enough what you done as well. I probably would have done the same thing! It just goes to show like what Webguy has said they are making it harder and harder for people to make money from their videos even if they're not monetized. But lessons were learned and all you can do is try again. But in a less linky way! :)

Awesome jkeyz thanks a lot, you and me both brother! That was one of the reasons for posting it because there are always going to be people that don't use YouTube that much and don't upload many videos to it but decide they're going to one day for whatever reason and knowing what it takes for your video to get flagged and removed and you receive a strike against your account can mean hopefully those same people that see this don't make the same mistake I do! I know it's not a mistake that I will be likely to repeat though that's for sure. :)

Is Night of the Living Dead a public domain movie? Do you mean the original George A. Romero film first made in 1968 or the later one by Tom Savini in 1990? I think with movies it's a bit of a gray area but I know you are right to stick by your guns when you know something is public domain. Not sure how much the courts would see it like that and they don't really understand about public domain and would probably just say you're beaching copyright laws or something. But you're right in that you wouldn't be able to monetize it. YouTube make any video that is suspected of using copyrighted audio or video so that it can't be monetized. So that's probably the reason. :)
