Technical issues with my mouse - no mouse cursor detected on screen (Youtube)

So I was on Youtube some time today (finding background music for my work) and my mouse randomly locked up, mouse cursor disappeared. I could move my mouse and the cursor would appear outside the page (such as in the browser bar, clicking there) so it's not like it's completely gone. I'm guessing for that reason, not mouse related and this is not happening on other pages. I closed that tab and the same issue was on another Youtube tab - except this time, the persistent mouse cursor finger (the image it shows when mousing over a link) would show on entire page as if page was a link. Again, no issues when mouse was OFF of the Youtube video page. On that page, I didn't have the option to use the scroll bar at the side of the page. Not sure if this was related to my own browser, Youtube, a script running. In fact, the same video page is still up in background repeatedly loadingn videos, no option to scroll up to pause the song on the video, basically i can shut the tab down or just let it keep loading videos.

No stranger to lagging pages/mouse, but this mouse is newer and never seen this on Youtube (though previously some years back, I played an MMORPG game that would seize and lock my mouse cursor in the same way). I feel disconcerted over the situation and don't want to encounter it again.

Possibly it's a one time thing, just reporting it to see if just me or anyone else encounter a similar Youtube mouse glitch situation.

Possibly a one time glitch thing, (hopefully) maybe something to do with your display card/driver more than the mouse itself as sometimes they can cause a confliction of some kind. Especially as it happened when you was on YouTube. Sometimes the memory for the video gets in the way of the memory for the mouse and the system has a temporary strop if you know what I mean. One thing you can do is check the system errors log. Every once in a while the Windows system files become corrupt and report errors. You can try this.

Open Command Prompt as Administrator and type or paste in "sfc /scannow"

It will scan for system errors. It may take a while depending on the size, speed and power of your system but generally should only take about 3-5 minutes to complete the scan. If there is/was any system errors found, it will show these there in that window.

If nothing is found, the other option is to use the Windows Event Viewer to to check for application and system warnings and errors. This includes any hardware peripherals such as your mouse and the driver for it. Here's a video that shows how to use it/check it. Hope it helps!
