Any tips to reduce my response time please?

I would really like to reduce my response time. No matter how promptly I reply it has always been at 1 day, and there was a time where it was 20 hours, but never less than that. Any tips please?

Hi Elite well that's a great question to ask and to answer! Many sellers here want to know how to decrease or reduce their response time and it's absolutely possible! However, very much like how the Google Algorithm works, knowing the exact formula to decrease/reduce your response time is not known on a whole other than what it says on the User Levels page of "Response time is calculated by the amount of time it takes you (as a seller) to respond to any comment or update to an order for the last 30 days." So that includes any comments people are placing on your services and in the order itself as a way to reduce your response time.

The first thing to point out though is that this has already been discussed about before as other people have had and asked this same/similar question here before. There has even been some guides posted on it to help with that. You probably already know about it, may have seen it, or already searched the Discussions for Response Time but still aren't able to find the answer to your question because like you've said, no matter how fast you reply and update an order, it is always still saying 1 day where as before it used to say 20 hours. So because of that and in case others want to know it's well worth mentioning here. So just in case check out Andre's post on How To Decrease Response Time or search the Discussions for Response Time as there's been lot of answers given on this before with some helpful answers.

But basically, let's look at what we know that it's all to do with your actual response time on your orders/services which includes;
  • Updating the order as soon as you possibly can when there's been an action in it such when the buyer first leaves the required details.
  • If they post in them something again even if it's just to say thanks.
  • And after they have completed/rated it by leaving your thanks/rating for them.
  • And if anyone leaves a comment on any of your services.

So are you doing this for all the times you can on an order within a shorter time frame than say, 6 hours? Because I think that you have to do it quite a lot so that it can tally up what the majority of your response times are rather than the latest ones. That's how I think it must work but as said I'm not really sure how the response time algorithm works will have to ask Jordan if he'll reveal it's secret or something! Any tips to reduce my response time please?

Also, you could get an email notifier app. If you have an email solely for the marketplaces than I would suggest downloading the Google Gmail App:

Download Gmail for your device Android or iOs

The app will show you the number of emails you've received, and it also goes through the notification system, so you'll be notifed of a new email everytime you receive one.
I had to disable the notifications, because the Community Discussion sends out a lot of emails, and my iPod was going off every 5 minutes.. lol..

So if you like being notified every 5 minutes then definitely look into an app like Gmail.

I never thought about that actually. Well to be honest I keep an eye on my mobile every few minutes as it has that little light on top that shows when an email got in, and I check it immediately. Also while working I have the email account open so I immediately learn that an email came in since on the tab there is the (1 unread) message you know. Apart from that I regularly refresh alerts. So honestly I check emails and alerts every few minutes as long as I am awake Any tips to reduce my response time please?

i love working from home i do not really need a notifier app , i am always near the desktop which always gives me access to everything i i need, and i do not have any trouble what so ever with getting in contact and staying in contact with clients this way it is way more efficient then being on your phone and responding , i see and hear my notifications pop up and i respond and take care of everything i need to with no wait times, not too mention i made sure i have the fastest internet in town lol

I use to use it whenever I was not able to be at the computer or if I wasn't logged into the website. It worked wonders, and it increased my productivity along with my response time. I don't know what I would do without it honestly.

So if you're ever away from your computer, or whatever remember to install an app like Gmail.

As for me, it annoyed me to no end, and it still does. I sometimes turn it on, as it displays all the emails I received, especially during sleep so i can just browse through it quickly and get a glimpse of what my day is gonna look like.

i like were you went with all this i deal mike , you are making plenty sense , you managed to sum up a simple 4 step method to shorten response times it is great that you touched up on some major points such as updating the order as soon as you possibly can , waiting can really slow you down as a client my just hop offline or not be able to respond depending how long you planned on taking in the first place you might just have extended the time by accident and that is always stressful in many ways

I assume that the response time is related to the delivery time of the orders as well maybe. I reply to instructions sent in the order whenever the buyer sends something, such as a question or some more instructions.

Yes Mike, I am. As you know I am here daily and for several hours too, and I practically answer within minutes whenever someone leaves a message in the order section, or completes an order. I was thinking that apart from the 4 points you mentioned, which as far as I know I see to promptly, it has to do with the submission of the actual order. Since I get many orders, deadlines tend to add up, and even though I deliver in time, I guess it might have an effect seeing that it takes several days to submit an order.

Reducing your response time is pretty simple, you just need to respond extremely quick lol Any tips to reduce my response time please?

Let's say when you started out you took, on average, 2 days to respond. This will then show a response time of 2 days, obviously. Since you're at a 1 day response time you will just have to be quicker when someone asks you a question.

What you an do to reduce your response times:
  • Log in frequently and check your inbox and alerts. This will show you if someone has messaged you and you can respond accordingly.
  • Stay logged in and refresh the page every 30 minutes. By doing this you'll drop your response time drastically since your response time will be less than an hour. If you stick with this for a couple weeks you'll notice your response time start to move.
  • If you have a smart phone, make a shortcut on your main screen that is linked to SeoClerks. This way you can just click the icon on your phone and it will open up SeoClerks. You can then respond to any questions from you clients or potential clients even if you're out and about.

Now you won't be able to respond every 30 minutes to an hour because we all need to sleep. So if you're an active seller and get a lot of questions, some of them will have an 8 hour response time, this could be longer or shorter depending on your sleep patterns. If you're typically responding every 30 minutes to an hour then the 8 hour responses won't hurt your times as much since the majority of your responses are quick. Even if half of your responses are 8 hours and the other are 1 hour, your average will still go down to just 4 hours which is still pretty quick Any tips to reduce my response time please?

I posted this discussion because I cannot understand how come I reply within minutes during the day, since I basically have my laptop switched on all the time and whenever an email comes in I either see it on my mobile if I am in another room, or directly on my laptop, but the response time has always remained so high. So I honestly do not know what else I can do. I think the longest I ever took to reply to a buyer was maybe 7 hours because they send exactly when I go to bed, until I reply first thing in the morn.

i like that stay logged in idea that is actually smart that way you can really keep up with your notifications and every thing else you need to keep tabs on also i liked how you mentioned sleep now people got to understand you tend to get your self in to a routine see what i am saying about this is that being in a routine all the time can really be a bad thing for you , you know it might be the way you organize your self that sets you back you might to re organize your work times in order to make faster responses

I just saw this Any tips to reduce my response time please? It's a good idea, but if you have a smart phone you can already get email notifications that let you know about SeoClerks.

On you post there I mentioned how it would be nice to get an SeoClerks app up and running because then we could easily get notifications of orders, comments, private messages, alerts, etc.

I have instant delivery services, i think this may help reduce the time..

Here's my response time:

Response time of 1 hour

Usually it takes me a couple of hours to actually reply to an order that is not instant delivery. You may want to look into some instant delivery services. I believe the reason for my response time being so low is due to the instant delivery, because as I said it takes me a little bit of time to respond to new/active orders. I could be entirely wrong, but it never hurts to try! Let me know how it goes for you if you decide to have an instant delivery service.

I guess it might help, although I used to have a service where I delivered an article within 24hours, but I only make that active when I am free or am about to complete all orders. Unfortunately at the moment I am not able to do that as I have several orders to see to.

Hi EliteWriter thanks for your nice question. I checked your profile and I saw your response time now 1 days. It is not bad as well. Yes response time very importance for attract to buyer. If your response time keep low always, I believe sell will increase as usually. To keep response time low you should response to all current purchased service immediately. And if buyer ask any question for previous orders, replay as soon as possible. And you can check all unread service from here (unread). And for immediately notification, you can use email notify on your computer. I am using GmailChecker by jasonsavard and it is an extensions for chrome.
